    We were LIVE from this Sunday afternoon talking the 154th Open Championship from Royal Birkdale won by New Zealand's Ryan Fox with bridie on the 72nd hole!

    We're coming your way with this edition of "The Daily Drive" Golf Collective and Podcast with insider Bob Harig on scene, near Liverpool, England.

    How did the 39 year old Fox pull off this championship win, when a playoff with American Cam Young had been looming for about and hour? Young had fired a final round of 64 to post -9, but Fox overtook him with birdies on 17 and 18 for his first major title.

    It's also the 13th straight 1st time winner of the Open Championship and Fox becomes the 2nd New Zealander with Bob Charles in 1963 to win the Open.

    There were other contenders like Scottie Scheffler and local favorite Tommy Fleetwood lurking, but they couldn't get close enough to win it, like Fox did Sunday.

    A WILD Friday at the 154th Open Championship, golf's final major of 2026, has concluded and there's much to discuss on "The Daily Drive Golf Podcast!"

    This show was originally a live show on social media and it's now a recap replay here on Podcast.

    Hosts T.J. Rives and Jason Powers are joined by insider Bob Harig of the "Daily Drive Golf Collective/Substack" who is live at Royal Birkdale for the coverage and now, controversy,.

    Australia's Lucas Herbert fired a 62 earlier on Friday and is in the outright lead at -8 through 36 holes. It was a great Friday playing for Bryson DeChambeau who shot a 66 with a birdie on the 18th hole, but then, massive controversy broke out after his round.

    That's when the governing body of the Open The Royal And Ancient (R & A) took DeChambeau back out to the fifth hole to explain why he had trampled down the long grass and fescue behind his ball before hitting it. DeChambeau was ultimately penalized two shots and his 66 became 68.

    The guys discuss it all with Bob's GREAT insight on scene and they debate the penalty and Bryson's behavior.

    The guys also talk more about the stacked leaderboard that has the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood, John Ram, Cam Young and others lurking and looking to win on Sunday afternoon.

    The 2026 U.S. Open Golf Championship is in the books and once again, Wyndham Clark hoisted the trophy Sunday evening. The 32 year old has captured his second U.S. Open title in the last three years by winning at famed Shinnecock GC in Long Island,, NY by one shot over Sam Burns.
