  • what happens when parents lack emotional maturity | cripple chronicles podcast (Ep.45)
    2025/04/28

    Hi friends! 🌻

Thank you so much for joining me for another episode of the Cripple Chronicles podcast. This episode was a bit hard to put together with not wanting to be on camera - but hoping this isnt the norm.

Today’s episode was a tough but important one. I talk about emotionally immature parents — what emotional immaturity looks like, how it impacts childhood development, mental health, self-worth, and how it affects adult relationships later in life.

I share some of my personal experiences navigating family dynamics, including the role of addiction, parentification, and emotional neglect. My goal isn't to place blame, but to understand how these experiences shape us and what healing can look like when we choose to break the cycle.

There are discussions of alcoholism, domestic violence (DV), and estrangement, so please take care while listening if these are sensitive topics for you.

  • breaking down the UK proposed benefit cuts (ep.43)
    2025/04/07

    Hi friends!

Thank you for joining me for another episode of the podcast.I decided to sit down and share what I know about the UK governments current proposal to cut and freeze benefits in the UK like PIP, UC and ADP. Stuff like this makes me increasingly anxious especially because I already have a difficult relationship with money. I dont want to live life in poverty but it feels like I dont really have much of a choice.

I also know there is a proposed plan to not stop benefits something like 'right to try' where people can attempt working without reduction in benefits however there is still not a lot of information on this and Disability Charities like Scope are worried this could be a smoke screen and blending the line between in work benefits and out of work benefits which will impact disabled people.

  • staying safe and restarting after experiencing a toxic relationship (ep. 39) (part 3)
    2025/03/12

    Hi friends!

Welcome back to another episode of the podcast, this is the final episode (for now) in this little series that I have been working on about abuse and the red flags, warning signs, impact, and this week on how it can be rebuilding relationships, some DO's and DON'Ts for supporting someone who has been through an abusive relationship.

In the near future I am planning on doing an episode on its own about Claires law, accessing it and what information is avaliable however doing these episodes has weighed a bit heavy on me - I have a bit of a life update next week and then some reaction content I filmed a few weeks ago.

I hope you continue to enjoy the ever-changing content of the podcast, and if you do consider leaving a follow and support the channel. It would mean a lot to me.

Below the chapters is also some places who offer support in the UK, but also globally and at the end of each of these episodes I have some support resources listed within the videos too.

Videos and links used within the episode:

    Economic abuse wheel: https://survivingeconomicabuse.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/SEA-Economic-abuse-wheel_final-1.pdf

    Gaslighting + invalidation article: https://www.mindsettherapyonline.com/blog/gaslighting-is-invalidating-but-invalidation-is-not-gaslighting

    Some DV sources where I gained info - but there is also really good support links;

    https://idas.org.uk/what-we-do/domestic-abuse-support/
