The word Baptism was created when the KJV writers decided not to translate the word. The Anglican church practiced sprinkling and that makes the word "baptizu" in the Greek problamatic, since it means "to immerse or dip into fluid".

For 1200 years after Jesus, the standard mode of baptism was immersion and normally of believers. Other modes were around during that time, but the standard was immersion.

Why did so many leave what the early church taught? Join Dan and Scott as we dive into the subject of Baptism and it's integral part in the plan of salvation.

Make no mistake, baptism is a command that we must follow and how we perform it matters.

  • Jesus Christ is the only way to God
    2026/08/14

What happens to the "good ones"? You know, the people who are so good, but have never accepted Christ as their Savior? Do they have a chance of eternal life without Jesus? What about the faithful of other religions such as Hinduism or Buddhism?

Join Dan and Scott for a discussion these topics today and find out why we can say with confidence that no amount of works, sincerity or "good living" can attain salvation. John 14:6 and Acts 4:12 prepare the way for us, but have your notebook handy, we mention a lot of scripture today.

Join Dan and Scott today as they have a discussion about the importance of small groups. Everyone needs community and intimacy and that is hard to achieve in a large church.

If you listen to the podcast and feel that you want to take part in hosting or facilitating a small group, please let Dan or Scott know. We need to grow smaller to accommodate more growth!

Thanks for listening! Have a great week!

  • Helping or Enabling? Children don't choose to be needy.

Today, Dan and Scott (who sounds like a frog because of a cold), discuss the difference between helping and enabling.

It's easy to dismiss the needy, especially when they are acting in ways that need to end. But most often, it isn't adults who are the needy, it's children. While we understand that something like our upcoming "Back to School Bash" where we have over five hundred children pre-registered to receive backpacks and school supplies might help parents in saving them money, we know it will bless children. Children don't choose to be needy and to dismiss their need because of their parents is ignoring Christ's command to "love our neighbors as ourselves". That command doesn't come with qualifications, we may have forgotten that.

  • Dealing with Difficult People
    2026/06/25

Do you have difficult people in your life? We all do and sometimes they're staring at us in the mirror.

Join us for a frank discussion on how to deal with difficult people and why we have a responsibility to do so! We use a good deal of scripture in this one, so take some notes and then take some time to study on your own afterwards.

And a note on something we didn't discuss: If you are in an abusive situation or are being hurt, there is help. Just because we are to love our enemies doesn't mean we have to continually be hurt by them. Seek help if you need it.

Love you, have a great week!

    Happy Father's Day!

We pray that your experience with your dad was good, but we also have to acknowledge that it might not have been. As the saying goes, "Anyone can become a father, but it takes work to be a good dad."

Whatever your experience we pray that God is using that to build the person you are becoming and have become. We hope that God can bring forgiveness and healing to each and every situation.

Join Dan and Scott this week as we talk about Fatherhood, Godly Manhood and what it means to generations of kids, communities and even worlds when men be who they are supposed to be.

And the great news today is three fold. 1) It's never too late to be a great dad. 2) You're not alone, you never were. and 3) Jesus is for you.

Isn't that good news? Remember, feel free to leave fan mail or send us emails if you would like to tell us something.

We are praying for you! Stand strong!
