In this replay of one of our favourite ever Friday roundups, Laura and Em dissect the films that promised a safe, simple story and delivered a reveal nobody asked for. There's the beloved rom-com twist that had entire cinemas gasping, the swoony drama with an ending so hated it still darkens people's faces, a kids' movie hiding something far more layered, and a festive love story with a twist so disturbing Laura's not sure if it's romantic or deeply unwell. Plus, Em sneaks in a pick that sparks a genre-rules showdown.
