By AnnieHosea 10:12Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.I read this from a Bible app the other day:God wants His people to prepare the soil of their hearts to receive the seed of His Word by seeking Him. Like farmers when they plant seeds in soil, if the soil is hard, they must break it up and soften it to receive the seed. We must do the same with our uncultivated hearts. We need to break up the hardened soil, our hardened hearts, and ask God to soften it so we can receive His word. When I reflect on this verse, there was a time I felt entitled to things I thought I deserved. Just because I graduated from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and a Master's Degree in Communications, I thought I could waltz into a boutique company or a public relations firm and expect to have remarkable results. I thought I could use my book smarts to get by.When I worked for another company, I thought I had the right formula to understand their social media needs. First of all, social media is a beast in and of itself. It's ever-changing. People are becoming their own "publicist" and self-publishing about themselves, etc. I do it too, so I'm no stranger to the self-promotion that social media affords, but unless it goes viral, it's not effective. All this to say, I can't keep up with social media, so instead, I had to concentrate deeply and hard on what God was trying to get me to hone in on. And at first I thought it was missions (because during one of the gifts of the Spirit test, one of my words was "missions"), but I think more than anything He told me "relationships" were the most important. I had horrible relationships in the past with men, and not having many trusted friends while growing up was also a hard situation. But since coming to the church where I attend now and where I am a member (Water of Life), I've had more friends than I've had in my lifetime. Yes, many of them are acquaintances, but these have been deeper relationships than I've been able to keep.Secondly, it's the way in which I interact with people. I have empathy for them. I have a stronger connection to them. So, I think this is where God has been cultivating me. I was a terrible person while growing up and in my college days. I had a hardened heart. He has softened it. He has broken up the hard soil of my heart, and it's been ready for His word to be planted. And because of that, I can serve and help others the way that God wants me to.How is the condition of your heart? Are you ready to receive a Word from God?Stop looking around you at what needs to be changed. Instead, look to the Lord and ask Him what needs to be changed in your heart.#Hosea1012 #HeartCheck #GodCaresAboutRelationships #WalkAndTalkFaith #GodIsOnTheAirGod is ON AIR and so are we!~~~~For business purposes, please email us at walkandtalkfaith@gmail.com~~~~Music CreditSong: SeasonsArtist: TelecastedYouTube Audio Library
