Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Most coaches and supervisors are trained to work in the present moment, with a future intention in mind. All well and good, but what if one of the most important things happening in the room is not immediately visible? What if the past is already there, silently shaping the conversation?

In a fascinating episode of The Coaching Supervision Casebook Podcast, Jeremy Lewis speaks with Fiona Adamson about a supervision case that explores a deceptively simple idea: the past is always alive in the present.

This podcast episode offers a rich exploration of supervision, relational awareness and the profound possibility that understanding the past can transform what becomes possible in both the present and the future.

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

For coach educators, one of the biggest challenges is helping new coaches move beyond the question: ‘Am I doing it right?’ Effective supervision can provide the confidence, reflection and psychological safety that trainees need to develop their practice.

In this episode, Charlotte Wilding shares her experience supervising coaches on an ILM Level 7 programme and demonstrates how the NEEDS framework supports her.

The framework is particularly effective for exploring common concerns among new coaches, such as fear of causing harm, managing emotional conversations, or handling challenging clients. Through structured reflection, trainees often discover that they already possess valuable skills from previous professional experiences and do not need to become a completely different person to coach effectively.
