    In this deeply moving episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with Kim Patton, author of Nothing Wasted, to talk about her powerful journey through faith, loss, love, and redemption. Kim opened up about the highs and lows of her first ten years of marriage—the struggles that tested her faith and the grace that held her together.

    We also talked about one of the most defining seasons of her life: the moment she received the heartbreaking news of infertility after waiting for ten long years. Kim spoke with raw honesty about how she wrestled with hope, grief, and identity—and how God turned her pain into purpose.

    Kim Patton is an adoptive and foster mama living in North Carolina with her husband Kevin and two daughters; Eden and Shiloh. She writes for Waiting in Hope Infertility ministry, Her View from Home, Shaunti Feldhahn, and has been the host of the Book Therapy podcast since 2022.
    Her second book, "Nothing Wasted: Struggling Well through Difficult Seasons" encourages readers to recognize personal growth amidst hard times.
    In her free time she is usually reading a memoir, taking her girls to the playground or playing tennis with her husband at the park.

    About Tiya Sowell:
    Tiya Sowell began her career in television news and transitioned to entertainment in 2012 as a music intern for BET. She was later hired by VH1 as a Production Assistant on a new reality show and has since worked in both non-scripted and scripted television as a Locations Manager, Transcriber, Producer, Production Coordinator, Writer, and more.

    Her many television credits include Front Seat Chronicles, Christmas on the Coast, The Real Estate Commission, Black Ink Chicago, Love and Hip Hop New York, Food Court Wars, The Reliant, Southern Comfort, and more.

    Tiya has been commissioned to write two feature films—Vampires of South Central and Lady’s Day—and has developed numerous episodic scripts for film festivals. She also served as a writer in two professional writers’ rooms.

    Currently, Tiya is an Associate Producer for the new Merit Street Media streaming network, specifically for Dr. Phil Primetime. She is also a founding member of the production group Historyians and continues developing quality, educational, and entertaining content for multi-generational audiences.
