In late 1938, the National League Pennant looked to be a lock, but then became a chase to the end. This game is a pivotal moment in the pursuit of the pennant.

Baseball and Broadcasting have been intrinsically linked for the better part of a century. But more than a third of major league baseball games were played before widespread Broadcasting or means of preservation. These are the silent scorecards. In this podcast, we select one of these scorecards and using game logs, biographies, articles, and books, we recreate the game by broadcasting it as if were live.

Our approach is to recreate the game as historically accurate as possible. Where data is not available, artistic license is used. Where license is used, respect for the player and respect for the game are held in highest regard.

This episode recreates a crucial game in the breathtaking finish to the 1938 National League Pennant chase.
