The Caregiver function – extraverted feeling – is one of the eight core functions in Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. It creates emotional harmony and facilitates connections in the external world, reading group dynamics and understanding what people need to thrive together. This episode explores how it manifests in ENFJs, ESFJs, INFJs, and ISFJs, and serves as the inferior function for INTPs and ISTPs.

Extraverted feeling organises based on what helps the world get its needs met, using valuation as its criteria for decisions. Jung noted that "without this kind of feeling, a harmonious social life would be impossible."

When developed, this function excels at managing group harmony and creating welcoming environments. When imbalanced, it can become people-pleasing or manipulative.
