On this episode of The Cardinal Fly-By, Dr. Ben Needle and Heidi Leonard sit down with Osborne’s own Ms. Lisa Peacock, recently named the Cobb County School District High School Teacher of the Year!

Ms. Peacock shares her journey to Osborne, what makes the Cardinal community so special, and what it was like to discover—in front of students, colleagues, family, and a surprise visit from the Superintendent—that she had earned one of the district’s highest honors.

Cardinal Fly-By Podcast – Season 4, Episode 1: The School Year is Underway

The 2026–2027 school year is officially underway, and we're kicking off Season 4 by looking at where Osborne has been, where we are today, and where we're headed next.

Principal Dr. Troy Jones joins the conversation to reflect on the unforgettable Senior Walk that launched the year, celebrate the championship-level accomplishments that made last year one of Osborne's most successful, and discuss what the latest End-of-Course assessment results reveal about the continued growth of Osborne students.

It has been an incredible year filled with energy, growth, and unmistakable excitement off Favor Road! As the fall season took hold, Osborne came alive with a renewed sense of pride and momentum. From the buzz of Friday night lights in Cardinal Stadium to the outstanding performances on stage in our fine arts programs, there has been no shortage of moments that brought our community together.

Inside the classrooms, students and teachers have been hard at work pushing for excellence, setting the tone for strong academic achievement and continued growth. Our commitment to high expectations and meaningful learning has been evident in every hallway, every lesson, and every opportunity for students to engage and excel. At the same time, our athletic teams have competed with heart and determination, representing Osborne with pride and resilience.
