  • Emotional Release: Creating Space for Financial Healing - Ep. 24
    2025/12/10

Emotional Release: Creating Space for Financial Healing - Ep. 24.

Financial frustration is a completely normal human experience, yet many of us (especially women) have been taught to suppress these powerful emotions. Today, I'm diving into my Money Rage Room technique, an idea for safely expressing and releasing financial anger, grief and resentment that might otherwise leak into other areas of your life.

I explore how stored money emotions can manifest as people-pleasing, passive-aggressive spending, avoidance behaviours, and self-sabotage. By creating intentional rituals for emotional release, whether through journaling, voice recordings, symbolic letter burning, or physical outlets, you can process these feelings constructively and move toward financial clarity with newfound empowerment.

The Money Rage Room isn't just about venting; it's a transformative practice that creates space for better decision-making. When we acknowledge our anger is valid but don't let it control us, we can finally move from reactionary chaos to confident ownership of our financial journey.

    Key Takeaways:
    • Suppressed money emotions don't disappear; they leak into other behaviours, often sabotaging our financial progress
    • Creating a safe, private space for emotional release helps regulate your nervous system and brings financial clarity
    • Childhood conditioning, financial abuse, people-pleasing tendencies, and feeling trapped can all create financial rage that needs healthy expression
    • Setting time boundaries for your "rage sessions" creates a container that leads to empowerment rather than overwhelm
    • The goal isn't just emotional release but creating space for better financial decision-making from a place of calm

  • Separating Self-Worth from Financial Worth: Breaking Financial Chains Ep. 21
    2025/11/19

Separating Self-Worth from Financial Worth: Breaking Financial Chains Ep. 21.

In this powerful episode, I dive deep into how our feelings of self-worth often become entangled with our financial status, and why this connection can be so damaging. Learn practical ways to recognise these patterns and start reclaiming your inherent value beyond your bank balance.

Money often becomes the mirror through which we measure our value, but that mirror can get cracked. When our self-worth is tied to wealth, we experience an emotional rollercoaster with every financial fluctuation, feeling incredible when money flows in and worthless when finances tighten.

In this episode, I explore the origins of these harmful connections, from childhood stories to cultural messaging, especially for women. More importantly, I share tangible strategies to decouple your inherent worth from your financial position. We'll examine the signs your worth is tangled with money, like feeling guilty when you rest, spending to feel better, or defining yourself by your income or job title.

This isn't just philosophical, it's essential for your emotional wellbeing and financial decision-making. When we operate from a place of ego or shame instead of calm clarity, we make poor financial choices and risk burnout. Discover how to anchor your self-worth in unshakeable aspects of your character and values.

    Key Takeaways:
    • Your worth as a human is inherent, it exists before any invoice is paid or salary lands
    • Signs your self-worth is entangled with money include guilt when resting, emotional spending, and feeling like a failure when finances are tight
    • Practical reframes to try: "This money win is exciting AND I'm valuable even without it" and "Money is a tool I use, not a reflection of who I am"

  • The Lifestyle Audit: Is Your Spending Aligned With Your Values? Ep.20
    2025/11/12

The Lifestyle Audit: Is Your Spending Aligned With Your Values? Ep.20.

Welcome to Breaking Financial Chains, where we combine practical money guidance with emotional healing. In this episode, I tackle the often-avoided topic of the lifestyle audit – a deep dive into where your money is really going and whether those choices still align with your values and goals.

This isn't about shaming yourself for past spending or slashing your budget in punishment. Rather, it's about bringing awareness to autopilot spending, understanding the true cost of your lifestyle (emotionally and financially), and creating space for more intentional choices. I walk you through a practical framework for categorising your spending into essentials, values-based choices, autopilot habits, and regrets – all through a lens of compassion.

Are you buying convenience but craving calm? Recognition when you really need rest? This episode will help you identify where your spending might be misaligned with your deeper needs, creating a path toward financial clarity and peace. Remember, you don't need a new life – just a clearer lens through which to see your current one.

    Key Takeaways:
    • Conduct a lifestyle audit by examining 1-3 months of spending and categorising into essentials, values-based, autopilot, and regrets.
    • Notice emotional triggers around spending – are you seeking recognition, convenience or access when you truly need something else?
    • Make adjustments with compassion, understanding the "why" behind past choices while creating space for intentional change.
    • The true cost of your lifestyle may not just be financial, but also in time, energy, and missed opportunities.

  • Breaking Financial Chains: Transforming Limiting Money Beliefs for Financial Freedom Ep. 19
    2025/11/05

Breaking Financial Chains: Transforming Limiting Money Beliefs for Financial Freedom Ep. 19.

Unlock the patterns behind your financial habits in this episode of Breaking Financial Chains. Discover how your money story is shaped, and how you can rewrite it for a better future.

    • How childhood experiences hardwire money beliefs
    • Recognising unconscious scripts that drive financial behaviour
    • The impact of common money messages like "we can't afford that"
    • Practical journaling prompts to uncover and reshape your money story
    • Steps to create new, positive financial habits starting today

We’re not born with money beliefs. Most of what you think about money was handed to you as a child, especially before age 7, when your brain just absorbs everything.

Your “money story” is the narrative shaping your financial habits and feelings. No two stories are the same, even for siblings in the same household. It’s not just what you saw or heard but how you felt around money matters most.

Examples: Maybe you learned “we can’t afford that,” or “don’t talk about money, it’s rude,” or that money is a “man’s business.” These beliefs get wired in, often without us realising it.

As adults, these hidden scripts show up as overspending, under-earning, guilt over success, anxiety about budgeting, or feeling unsafe when you have “too much” money.

Here’s the good news: none of these stories are permanent. You’re not broken—just patterned. With awareness, you get to edit the script.

Try this: Reflect on your first memory of money. What messages did you pick up? How do they show up now? Then, decide what story you want to live by instead and start building small, intentional habits that reinforce it.

You inherited survival tools, but you can put down what no longer serves you, with love, and choose a new direction. Your story is valid, but it’s also editable. Today can be a fresh page.
