Throughout the KJV Holy Bible, oil represents God’s anointing, consecration, healing, refreshment, joy, and preparation for service. Kings and priests were anointed, the sick were prayed over and anointed with oil, and oil was used as a picture of God’s blessing and the presence of the Holy Ghost.
