  • Evidence for God: Proof of God's Existence
    2021/12/02

In today's episode of The Biblecast, Zach and Matt make a case for the existence of God. We talk about 4 of the main arguments that strongly support God's existence and have a conversation about the reality of the universe that we live in and its testament to God. Join us in the conversation and let us know what you thought on our social media!

Evidence for God: Proof of God's Existence: At-a-Glance:

    • The answer to the question of God's existence has infinite weight in our lives; it determines whether life has any meaning, value, or purpose.
    • Those who call themselves atheists or agnostics don't actually live out their beliefs in full because of the implications of the thought that there is no god.
    • People tend not to believe in God not for lack of argument or reason, but due to preference.
    • There are four main arguments that strongly support the existence of God.
    • The cosmological argument argues for God from the point that the universe had to have had a cause. The most logical cause is that God exists and created the universe according to the laws of physics.
    • The teleological argument argues for God from the point that the universe exhibits a whole lot of evidence of intelligent design and fine-tuning. The universe's constants are so precisely tuned to allow intelligent life that some kind of intelligent powerful being had to have fine tuned it.
    • The complexity argument argues for God from the point that biological life is very specifically complex in its nature and makeup. Therefore, some kind of intelligence had to be at work when designing such specifically complex things to work in the way that they should.
    • The moral argument argues for God from the point that if God doesn't exist, there can be no higher moral standard that all humans should live by. If this standard does not exist, morality is relative and humanity descends into anarchy because everyone possesses their own version of the truth (see Judges 21:25).
    • From the reasoning of these arguments, the only logical conclusion is that a god who is powerful, intelligent, and moral must exist, evidenced by the reality that we live in.

  • Evidence for God: The Foundation of Truth
    2021/11/18

Let's be honest. We're all looking for truth in this world. The question is: How can we actually find what is true and navigate through the weeds of opinions? Join Zach and Matt as they dive into the foundation of truth and how we can discover truth today.

Evidence for God: The Foundation of Truth: At-a-Glance

    • Many people have beliefs about religion, Christianity, and spirituality in general, but not many people know why they believe what they do.
    • There are, in fact, evidences for the Christian God and we should have reasons that we believe in Him, not just personal experiences.
    • We live in a postmodern world - what does that mean and what should we do about it?
    • We often neglect truth when it comes to religion and spirituality, but expect it in every other area of our lives.
    • There are 5 main questions in life that we are always trying to answer with some form of truth.
    • Truth is what is accurate and what agrees with reality.
    • There are some truths that we can know about truth.
    • Truth is not merely relative - there must be absolutes. Otherwise, saying that truth is relative is a self-defeating statement.
