With the release of the latest Spider-Man film, "Brand New Day" in cinemas this summer, many comic book fans around the world might be looking to get in the swing of things by checking out some of the previous adventures of your friendly neighbourhood superhero.

I've pulled together a list of the live-action movies featuring "Spider-Man", ranking them from worst to best. For the purposes of this ranking, I've also not included the animated films, nor the Marvel "Avengers" and "Civil War" films, or villain spin-off films.

Unfortunately for Spidey fans, due to the complicated licensing rights for the character from a deal made years before Disney purchased Marvel, Sony owns the rights to the "Spider-Man" movies, though Marvel Studios does collaborate with them on the latest films with Tom Holland.

This also means that Sony distributes the movies, resulting in these films being available on Disney+ around the world in different ways from country to country due to licensing contracts. So not every film on this list may be available on Disney+ in your country. #disneyplus
