Auburn secures its first SEC home win since 2024, but questions about the Tigers' offensive identity linger after a 21-15 victory over Vanderbilt at Jordan-Hare Stadium. With Alex Golesh searching for answers, the offense struggled behind an inconsistent run game and an offensive line that failed to open lanes, leaving Byrum Brown and running backs like Omar Mabson and Jeremiah Cobb often bottled up. Can Auburn fix its offensive woes before a daunting October SEC slate, or will the slow starts and lack of rhythm haunt them against tougher defenses?

Defensively, Auburn rebounded by limiting Vanderbilt to 15 points despite being on the field for nearly 40 minutes. Standouts like Xavier Atkins flashed promise, yet tackling miscues and fourth-down struggles left room for concern as running quarterbacks loom on the horizon. As the Tigers eye Tennessee next, will Golesh's squad find the answers needed to compete or continue battling the same familiar issues?

Auburn Tigers fans are questioning whether they should fear Vanderbilt’s true freshman phenom Jared Curtis as the 5-star quarterback prepares for his first SEC road start at Jordan-Hare. Curtis’s mixed debut—three touchdowns but crucial turnovers—raises the stakes for a Vanderbilt team seeking to prove its offensive firepower. Can Curtis exploit Auburn’s questionable defense, or will DJ Durkin’s unit rattle the youngster and regain lost momentum after a rough outing against Florida?

Running back Sedrick Alexander and wideout Junior Sherrill provide additional threats for Vanderbilt, but Auburn’s focus is on fixing missed tackles and asserting control at the line of scrimmage. Auburn’s own offensive struggles, particularly in the ground game with Jeremiah Cobb, Bryson Washington, and Omar Mabson, are put under the spotlight as they look to recapture the Tigers’ historic rushing dominance. Will an improved Auburn attack and defensive response restore faith among the Auburn faithful?

The Auburn Tigers’ offensive line is raising alarms as Byrum Brown becomes the most sacked quarterback in the FBS, with SEC play intensifying against Vanderbilt. Despite the quick-throw scheme intended to mask O-line issues, Auburn’s guards and interior protection are struggling, leaving Brown vulnerable and the run game ineffective. Could the team’s young talents like Wilson Zeirer provide the spark needed, or is the real answer missing on the current roster?

Questions swirl about whether Brown is holding the ball too long or if scheme adjustments are needed to get him moving and unleash his playmaking. Passing game timing, play-calling, and the reluctance to use slants all come under scrutiny as the Tigers search for rhythm. With Georgia, LSU, and Ole Miss looming, will Auburn’s offense hit its stride—or will protection breakdowns define their season?
