Should a Christian vote for a flawed candidate? With the 2026 midterm elections weeks away, Pastor Marc Little asks what a believer owes the ballot box, and he answers it as a pastor, a lawyer and a political commentator.
Marc opens with the scoreboard: the generic ballot, the Senate map, and the races that will decide control in Texas, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Maine, Alaska and Kansas. He explains why Democrats lead on the cost of living, why Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed could not say Iran is a threat, and what the rise of the Democratic Socialists of America means for voters. He then names four things on the ballot besides affordability: religious liberty, the border, law and order, and women’s sports.
From Matthew 5, Marc makes the case that salt and light do nothing from a distance, and that voting is a duty for a Christian. He takes on the harder question of the morally imperfect candidate, drawing on Jethro’s counsel to Moses, Romans 3:23, and Cyrus, the pagan king God called His anointed.
The episode ends in Texas, where James Talarico and Ken Paxton are in a dead heat for the United States Senate. Marc defines apostasy, reads Talarico’s own words about God and Christianity, states Paxton’s marital scandal plainly, and explains why he votes the record. There is no virtuous party in this country. The ballot box and a Bible study are two different things.
