概要

The Babysitter's Notes is an anthology of those nights, each episode a self-contained story drawn from a tattered notebook Luna found in the crawlspace of a foreclosed home. The parents were going to a wedding, the kid was asleep by eight, and I was alone with a landline that didn't ring and a copy of 'The Shining' I'd found in the guest room. Around midnight, the phone did ring. It wasn't a wrong number. It was a voice that knew my name, knew where I was, knew what I was wearing. It told me to look out the kitchen window toward the old mill. What I saw there made me understand that some roads shouldn't be traveled, and some calls shouldn't be answered. This is what happened that night, and why I still check the locks at two in the morning.
