Season One continues with a bittersweet tale of fame, friendship, and the price of a single hit song

AudioZoo Podcast Drama Network is proud to announce the release of "The Story of Sweet Charlie Eight – The One Trick Pony," the second episode of Season One of its original audio drama anthology series, The Story Of...

Written by Jerry Bader and produced by Jerry Bader and Sash Mutze, this episode follows the rise and fall of Charles "Sweet Charlie Eight" Roundtree — a gifted young musician born into a jazz dynasty, whose single rock 'n' roll hit, "One Trick Pony," catapults him to stardom before fame's harsh realities send him searching for the friendship and meaning he left behind.

"Sweet Charlie Eight's story is about that one great moment we all chase, and what happens to us when the spotlight moves on," said Jerry Bader. "It's funny, it's a little sad, and at its heart, it's about the friendships we sometimes take for granted on the way up."

The episode features:

• Randy Thompson as The Narrator
• Greg Brannon as Sweet Charlie Eight
• Wil Schaffner, performing the a cappella rendition of "One Trick Pony"
• Sidney Kean as Sweet Charlie Eight's Father
• Lionel Wharton as Charlie Tu
• Auri Streets, Kate Zehr, and Cerys Fernandes as The Girls
• Winn Manning, Cykade, and Sash Mutze as the residents of the Las Vegas Old Age Home for Retired Performers
