There's a pattern running in the background of your intimate life that you probably didn't choose and may not even be aware of. It shapes whether you pursue or pull away from closeness with loved ones, whether vulnerability feels safe or dangerous, whether intimacy feels like home or like a threat. It's your attachment style, and it has more to do with your current desire than most people realize.
In this episode, I'm breaking down the four main attachment patterns, how each one affects desire differently, and what changes once you can actually name your own.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Q: How does attachment style affect sex drive and intimacy?
A: Your attachment style shapes whether closeness feels safe or threatening. Anxious attachment can turn sex into a bid for reassurance rather than genuine desire, while avoidant attachment can make the body guard against closeness even when you consciously want it.
Q: What are the four attachment styles in relationships?
A: Secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized (fearful-avoidant). Each formed in early caregiving relationships and shows up differently in adult intimacy — from comfort with closeness (secure) to simultaneously wanting and fearing it (disorganized).
Q: Can you change your attachment style once you recognize it?
A: Attachment patterns aren't destiny. Naming the pattern when it's operating creates a pause between the trigger and the reaction — that pause is where change begins, sometimes with therapeutic support, especially for deeply rooted or trauma-related patterns.
