  • The Brutal Truth About Cholesterol Medication (Your Doctor Will Never Tell You This)
    2026/08/06

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

Your doctor sees high LDL and reaches for a prescription pad. But nobody stops to ask why your liver started making more cholesterol in the first place. That question changes everything.

In this episode, I'm going to show you what's actually driving your LDL up, what statins are costing your body long term, and what actually lowers cholesterol for good.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Your Cholesterol Drug Is Treating the Wrong Thing
0:44 What LDL cholesterol is actually for
1:26 The cholesterol conundrum myth explained
2:08 Why 75% of heart attack patients have normal cholesterol
2:23 The enzyme statins block and why it matters
3:22 Why statins cause fatigue and muscle pain
4:56 The real test your cardiologist never orders
5:56 Leaky gut and the LPS heart disease connection
7:07 High sensitivity CRP and fasting insulin explained
9:21 Two questions to ask your doctor next visit

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why does statin medication cause fatigue and muscle pain?
Statins block the same enzyme your body uses to produce CoQ10, a compound your mitochondria need to generate energy, so lowering cholesterol this way also drains the fuel your heart and muscles depend on.

Why is my cholesterol high even though I eat healthy?
High LDL is often your liver's repair response to inflamed or damaged vessel walls, frequently caused by leaky gut, insulin resistance, or chronic blood sugar damage, not by diet alone.

What tests should I ask for besides a standard cholesterol panel?
Ask for high sensitivity CRP to check vessel inflammation, a fasting insulin test to catch insulin resistance early, and an intestinal permeability panel to see if your gut is leaking bacterial fragments into your bloodstream.

  • Always Tired Even Though Your Labs Are Normal? (Here’s Why)
    2026/07/30

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

You did the labs. Adrenals, thyroid, iron, B12, sleep study, maybe even a gut panel. Everything came back normal, but you still wake up exhausted. There is one piece of this puzzle that almost never gets checked, and it controls whether any of your fatigue protocols actually work.

In this episode, I'm going to explain why chronic fatigue with normal labs almost always traces back to vagus nerve compression at the top of your spine, and what you can do to check it yourself today.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Always Tired Even Though Your Labs Are Normal? (Here’s Why)
0:41 What actually keeps your body from recovering
1:31 The nerve that controls your rest and repair shift
2:50 Why supplements and biohacking hit a ceiling
3:00 What the vagus nerve actually connects to
3:29 How your atlas bone compresses the brainstem
4:52 Why massage and chiropractic care alone are not enough
5:56 Three signs your vagus nerve is interfered with
7:02 A two minute test you can do right now
9:03 The nerve that calms your whole body down

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Why am I always tired even though my labs are normal?
A: Fatigue with normal labs is usually caused by a compressed vagus nerve, which prevents your body from shifting into rest and repair mode at night. Without that shift, your mitochondria keep producing energy for a stress response instead of using it to heal your tissue.

Q: Can supplements or sleep hygiene fix chronic fatigue?
A: Sleep hygiene, clean eating, and supplements can help for a while, but they cannot correct a structural nerve compression. If the atlas bone at the top of your neck is misaligned and pressing on your brainstem, your recovery will always hit a ceiling no matter what you add on top.

Q: How do I know if my vagus nerve is compressed?
A: Three signs point to it. Waking up unrefreshed after a full night of sleep, slow or unpredictable digestion even with a clean diet, and anxiety or stress with no clear trigger. These are not separate problems. They are the same structural issue showing up in different systems of your body.

  • Thyroid Disease Is NOT a Thyroid Problem
    2026/07/23

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

Your TSH can look perfect and you can still feel awful. That is because standard thyroid treatment only checks one number and ignores the actual pathway between your brain and your thyroid. There is a structural piece controlling your thyroid function that you have probably never been tested for.

In this episode, I'm going to explain why chasing TSH keeps patients stuck for years and show you the structural cause that endocrinologists are never trained to look for.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Thyroid Disease Is NOT a Thyroid Problem
0:32 What thyroid medication is actually doing
1:18 TSH is measuring the wrong thing
2:07 The nerve pathway from brain to thyroid
2:52 Why MRIs miss this completely
3:22 The gap between endocrinology and neurology
5:00 Patient case: 20 years of hypothyroidism reversed
7:13 Three questions to check your own pathway
9:19 What a full thyroid panel should include

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Why does my TSH stay abnormal even on thyroid medication?
A: TSH comes from your pituitary, not your thyroid, so it reflects a signaling problem, not a thyroid deficiency. If the nerve pathway from your brain to your thyroid is interrupted, your thyroid only receives a partial signal and your TSH keeps rising no matter how much medication you take.

Q: Can a neck injury cause thyroid problems?
A: Yes. A shift in the atlas, the top bone of your spine, can put pressure on the brainstem and disrupt the nerve signal that controls your thyroid. This is common after car accidents, falls, or old undiagnosed trauma, and it will not show up on a standard MRI.

Q: Why do my thyroid labs look normal but I still feel sick?
A: Normal labs only confirm your hormone output, not whether the nerve signal reaching your thyroid is intact. You can have a fully functioning thyroid gland that is simply not receiving a complete signal from your brain.

  • You Spent Thousands on Functional Medicine and You're Still Sick. Here's Why.
    2026/07/16

You spent thousands of dollars on functional medicine and you are still stuck. That is not your fault. Most functional practitioners skip one structural piece your body needs to actually use everything they give you.

In this episode, I'm going to explain the one system most functional medicine doctors never assess, why your protocol stalls even when you do everything right, and the three questions you need to ask your practitioner today.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 You Spent Thousands on Functional Medicine and You're Still Sick. Here's Why.
1:00 The real reason functional medicine stops too soon
2:14 The sound system analogy that explains your stalled results
3:17 The one system that controls everything else
5:29 Subluxation trumps functional medicine, here's why
8:09 The three questions to ask your functional medicine doctor
9:41 How one structural correction cleared a 20 year thyroid problem
    13:35 What to do
15:24 Why you didn't fail functional medicine

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why does functional medicine stop working even when I follow the protocol perfectly?
Most functional medicine protocols never assess the nervous system, so supplements, diet changes, and hormone support cannot reach your body if a structural interference called subluxation is blocking the pathway.

What is the connection between chiropractic care and functional medicine?
Your nervous system delivers every instruction from your brain to your organs, glands, and cells, so structural chiropractic correction and functional medicine protocols work together rather than as separate disciplines.

What questions should I ask my functional medicine doctor if I'm not getting results?
Ask whether your spine was physically evaluated for structural alignment, whether they connected your nervous system to your specific health issue, and whether a structural correction was ever offered as an alternative to more supplements.

  • The Heart Disease Conversation Your Doctor Never Has With You

You walked out of your cardiologist's office with a plan, a prescription, and that nagging feeling that nobody actually answered your real question. What is causing this? After more than a million patient visits over 22 years, I can tell you the conversation you needed was never on the agenda.

In this episode, I'm going to break down the three questions your cardiologist has never asked you, explain why standard care measures your heart disease instead of investigating its root cause, and walk you through the exact steps to become your own cardiologist at your next appointment.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 The Heart Disease Conversation Your Doctor Never Has With You
0:51 Why cardiologists measure but never investigate
2:29 The brain stem connection sabotaging your heart
4:56 The vagal nerve link to blood pressure and arrhythmias
5:56 Three questions your doctor never asked
7:12 Adam's story: six years of failed blood pressure fixed in six weeks
9:53 How to walk into your next appointment prepared
11:12 Write this down before your next cardiology visit
12:57 What happens when you hand your doctor these questions

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What questions should I ask my cardiologist about heart disease?
Ask if any provider has evaluated your upper cervical spine and nervous system, tested your gut for permeability and inflammation, or assessed your toxic burden. These three areas are almost never addressed in standard cardiology appointments but directly affect heart function.

Can a spinal misalignment cause high blood pressure?
Yes. A misalignment in the upper cervical spine, especially the atlas C1 vertebra, can interfere with the brain stem's control over heart rate, blood pressure, and inflammation. Correcting this interference has helped patients stabilize blood pressure after years of failed medication management.

Why does my cardiologist never find the root cause of my heart disease?
Standard cardiology appointments are built to measure and manage symptoms like blood pressure and cholesterol, not to investigate why those numbers are abnormal in the first place. Finding the root cause requires looking at the nervous system, gut health, and toxic burden, areas most cardiologists never assess.

  • Can You Really Reverse Type 2 Diabetes in 90 Days? (A Functional Medicine Doctor Explains)
    2026/07/02

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

Your blood sugar numbers are the warning light, not the engine problem. Lowering them with medication is putting tape over the dashboard. The patients who reverse Type 2 diabetes in 90 days are not the most disciplined. They are the ones whose doctors finally investigated upstream.

In this episode, I'm going to show you why blood sugar control is not the same as diabetes reversal, what the three root systems most diabetic patients never get tested for are, and the self-assessment you can do tonight.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Can You Really Reverse Type 2 Diabetes in 90 Days? (A Functional Medicine Doctor Explains)
1:05 Why better blood sugar numbers is not the same as reversing diabetes
1:52 The dashboard warning light: managing symptoms vs. fixing the engine
2:46 Why working harder keeps you stuck when you have not found the cause
4:20 The leaking pipes: why partial fixes never produce full reversal
5:37 Three questions your doctor should be asking about your diabetes
7:44 The variable behind a 40-year diabetic reversing in 90 days
8:43 Jeff's case: nervous system, gut, and toxins addressed simultaneously
10:43 The self-assessment you can do tonight
12:09 Three-column test: nervous system, gut health, toxic burden

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Can Type 2 diabetes actually be reversed?
A: Yes, when the upstream root causes are identified and corrected at the same time. Type 2 diabetes is a downstream symptom of three dysfunctions: nervous system interference disrupting pancreatic output, gut permeability driving chronic inflammation, or toxic burden blocking insulin receptors. When all three are addressed together, blood sugars can normalize. (0:00)

Q: What causes insulin resistance beyond diet and exercise?
A: Three systems generate insulin resistance independent of what you eat. Thoracic spine misalignment disrupts the nerve signal that tells your pancreas how much insulin to produce. Gut permeability allows bacterial toxins into the bloodstream that directly block insulin receptors. Toxic burden from heavy metals and pesticides is confirmed as a direct driver of insulin resistance in roughly one in three Type 2 diabetics. (5:37)

Q: How long does it take to reverse Type 2 diabetes?
A: The speed depends on how quickly the root causes are found and addressed together, not on how disciplined the patient is. Jeff, a patient who had lived with diabetes for four decades, saw his blood sugars normalize within 90 days once all three systems were identified and treated at the same time. The reversal was not about effort. It was about investigation. (8:43)

  • Ozempic vs Water Fasting: One Restores Your Metabolism. The Other Overrides It
    2026/06/25

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

Ozempic might be lowering your blood sugar and shrinking your appetite. But there is a question your doctor probably has not asked: what happens when you stop? Every day your body outsources GLP-1 production to a drug, the internal system that makes it naturally gets weaker. That is not treatment. That is dependency.

In this episode, I'm going to show you what GLP-1 injections are actually doing to your metabolic system long term, how water fasting stimulates natural GLP-1 production, and the four inputs your body needs to start working on its own again.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Ozempic vs Water Fasting: One Restores Your Metabolism. The Other Overrides It
1:35 The cast analogy: when a metabolic "fix" becomes the problem
2:41 How water fasting stimulates natural GLP-1 production
4:53 Ozempic vs. water fasting: training wheels vs. riding the bike
7:04 Three questions to ask yourself about your metabolic recovery right now
10:47 Four inputs that reactivate natural GLP-1 production
14:02 The vagus nerve, upper cervical care, and the piece most people miss

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: What happens when you stop taking Ozempic?
A: If your body has been receiving GLP-1 from an outside source for months or years, the internal system that produces it naturally shuts down. Hunger returns hard and fast when you stop because your body has forgotten how to make GLP-1 on its own.

Q: Can water fasting help your body produce GLP-1 naturally?
A: Yes. Short-duration water fasting triggers a hormonal cascade that stimulates your body to produce GLP-1 without pharmaceutical assistance. The goal is to restore the internal production system so your body works without the drug long term, not just to swap one method for another.

Q: What naturally stimulates GLP-1 production?
A: Water fasting, fasted exercise, dietary fiber from chia seeds, flax, and legumes, omega-3 fatty acids, and upper cervical chiropractic care that restores vagus nerve communication all activate natural GLP-1 production. When the vagus nerve is compressed, none of the other inputs will work effectively.

  • 3 Causes of Type 2 Diabetes Your Doctor Has Never Tested For
    2026/06/18

    📌 Schedule a free consultation: https://askdrernst.com

If you have been managing type 2 diabetes for more than a year and your numbers still are not where they need to be, the problem is almost certainly not what you are eating. There are three systems in your body that generate insulin resistance completely independent of diet and exercise, and most diabetic patients never get tested for any of them. The one that surprises people most has nothing to do with blood sugar at all.

In this episode, I'm going to walk you through the three upstream sources of insulin resistance that conventional medicine almost never investigates, how to identify which ones are active in your body, and what you can do today.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 3 Causes of Type 2 Diabetes Your Doctor Has Never Tested For
1:32 Why blood sugar management has nothing to do with your pancreas alone
2:10 System 1: How vagus nerve disruption blocks pancreatic insulin output
3:29 System 2: How gut permeability silently drives insulin resistance
6:54 System 3: Toxic burden and how heavy metals interfere with insulin signaling
9:29 Three questions to find out if toxic load is a factor in your case
10:39 The right labs to ask for (not just A1C and fasting glucose)
14:00 Four actions you can take today to start reducing upstream interference

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Can gut problems cause type 2 diabetes even with no digestive symptoms?
A: Yes. Gut permeability can drive insulin resistance for years with zero stomach symptoms. When the gut lining is compromised, bacterial toxins enter the bloodstream and trigger chronic inflammation that physically blocks insulin receptors from working. The blood sugar rises because the key no longer fits the lock.

Q:Can the nervous system affect blood sugar and insulin output?
A: Yes. The vagus nerve controls communication between the brainstem and the pancreas. When the upper cervical spine is misaligned, that relay is disrupted and pancreatic insulin output is affected independently of what you eat. It presents exactly like a lifestyle-driven disease, which is why it is almost always missed.
