After 40 years of following Jesus, I've noticed something a lot of us Christians do without realizing it. We turn God into a delivery system, a kind of spiritual Amazon Prime. We follow Him, and He drops off the good life at our front door. But the Bible doesn't present God as the middleman to something better. He is the treasure. When Christ becomes your definition of the good life, you can enjoy His gifts without worshiping them, and when those gifts are taken away, your whole world doesn't have to collapse.     My son James picked today's topic: why is marriage becoming so unattractive to young people? In 1993, over half of Americans ages 25 to 29 were married. Today it's just 29%. We dig into the money pressure of homes costing four times a family's income, hookup culture, cohabitation going from 1 in 100 couples to 3 out of 4, divorce scars, and a culture that keeps young men from ever growing up.

    A lot of people think they can hack the system and get the benefits of marriage without the covenant. How's that working for us? God's design isn't a cage. It's the map home to blessing, protection, and real joy. And who you marry is one of the two biggest decisions you'll ever make, so choose carefully.

    Plus, James settles Kirk vs. Picard once and for all. (Kirk wins. Obviously.)

    Seven college men accused of assaulting one incapacitated young woman. A Snapchat message allegedly inviting more guys into the room. And I keep asking one question: where were the good men?

    Today I’m talking about the Cornell lawsuit, and the 1,000 pound elephant that the legal debate keeps walking past: the character of our men. We’ll look at Lot’s catastrophic failure in Genesis 19, Quasimodo crying “Sanctuary!”, and Jesus, the ultimate hero, who laid down His life for His bride. Then I’ll share an uncomfortable suspicion about why so many young men lack moral courage, and it starts with us dads, pastors, and grandfathers.
