In this episode of Shhh IT Happens, we are joined by John Ohlwiler of Century Technology Solutions, and Joe Forgét, Founder of Igniting Momentum, to explore the alignment problem and why leadership alignment has become a major IT issue.

As a Strategy & Growth Advisor, Joe helps leadership teams align, scale, and create enterprise value. His work focuses on helping companies create stronger alignment, clearer priorities, healthier communication, and better execution so the business can grow with more clarity and confidence.

The conversation explores how misalignment shows up in growing companies through siloed software purchases, reactive planning, unclear ownership, underused platforms, and AI initiatives that amplify broken processes. The key takeaway: technology only creates value when leadership is aligned on direction, priorities, and execution.

We cover:

• Why IT problems often start as leadership alignment problems
• How siloed software decisions create hidden cost and operational friction
• Why IT needs to understand the company’s growth plan before giving strategic advice
• How AI can multiply broken processes when teams lack clear context
• Why owner dependency can reduce long-term business value
• How involving the right people early improves technology adoption
• Why “growth” and “scalable growth” are not the same thing

If your business is adding tools, rolling out AI, expanding teams, or making technology decisions without clear ownership, this episode will help you spot the cracks before they become expensive repairs.
