  • PipemanRadio Chats with Mixi of Stitched Up Heart About Lots of Collabs on New Album Medusa
    2026/07/09
Stitched Up Heart Release New Single "MEDUSA" featuring Lyric NoelNew Album Medusa Out Now via Judge & Jury Records A Fierce Anthem of Empowerment and Transformation, "Medusa" Finds Frontwoman Mixi Confronting Betrayal Head-On and Emerging Stronger Than Ever! In 2026, Stitched Up Heart began a bold, defining new chapter with their fourth album, MEDUSA, released on Judge & Jury Records. The album is spearheaded by the fierce, internet-culture rock anthem "GLITCH BITCH" featuring Conquer Divide, & the bloodthirsty women-empowering heater "CANNIBAL" featuring Heidi of Butcher Babies. "'Medusa' is about finally flipping the script on something that has tried to curse you. A battle cry for the women who were betrayed and serving justice by venom with a smile," explains Mixi. "Writing this song felt like clearly recognizing a betrayal, shedding your own skin, and spitting out the venom that was meant to poison you by claiming your power back. It's the perfect mirror — I'm not the girl getting gaslit and nauseous anymore. I'm the one with the Medusa stare turning problems to stone unapologetically. I'm not asking for permission anymore. I am here — I'm reborn, venomous, and ready." The song's message of rebirth extends throughout the accompanying music video, which was filmed in Dallas, Texas and draws heavily from ancient Greek mythology and imagery. Inspired by the legend of Perseus and Medusa, Stitched Up Heart flips the traditional narrative on its head. Rather than being slain by the Greek hero, the video's twin Medusas rise up and take control of their fate, ultimately defeating Perseus themselves. The concept originated with Mixi, who envisioned the striking visual of twin Medusas sharing a bathtub as a central image within the video's dreamlike and mythological world. The video's themes mirror the song's message of shedding old skin, embracing transformation, and emerging stronger from betrayal and adversity. Adding to the experience was a live snake featured in the production. Mixi shared that despite snakes often being portrayed as dangerous or sinister, the animal used on set couldn't have been more different. "The snake was actually scared of me," she recalled. "It had the sweetest soul and wasn't evil at all like people often portray snakes to be." "The songs were written with the live show in mind," says Mixi. "We wanted the energy to translate directly to the stage and create moments where people could let loose and embrace their inner crazy." While the title track and lead single "Medusa" features a standout guest appearance from Lyric Noel, the album also includes collaborations with an impressive roster of artists, including Lauren Babic, Eyes Set to Kill, Conquer Divide, Butcher Babies, Nonpoint, NOAPOLOGY, Austin John Winkler (The Founder), and Geena Fontanella. Beyond the stage, Mixi continues to use her platform to advocate for more women in rock and metal while actively volunteering with multiple animal rescue organizations throughout Southern California. Tracklisting:1) LOVE AND DEATH (feat. Austin John Winkler)2) SICK SICK SICK (feat. Lauren Babic & Eyes Set To Kill)3) GLITCH BITCH (feat. Conquer Divide)4) CANNIBAL (feat. Butcher Babies)5) MEET ME AFTER LIFE (feat. NOAPOLOGY)6) MEDUSA (feat. Lyric Noel)7) BEAST (feat. Nonpoint)8) DEAD TO ME (feat. • Canadian Death-Groove Metal Band Pythonic Set You Free - PipemanRadio Interview
    2026/07/25
    Pythonic - Set You Free

Pythonic is a Canadian death-groove metal band hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Drawing inspiration from groove and death metal giants like Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, Morbid Angel, and Devildriver, the band blends crushing riffs with unrelenting energy. Striving for the tightest live sound possible while delivering an electrifying stage presence, Pythonic is truly a sonic force to be reckoned with. Over the years, the band has seen many lineup changes, but two core members have remained constant. Lead guitarist Ryan Hunter, the resident guitar prodigy, shreds some of the grooviest riffs and most blistering solos. Rhythm guitarist Vincent Kohut brings a machine-like precision, combining thick low-end riffing with razor-sharp tremolo picking.

The 2025 and beyond lineup is the tightest and most prolific in Pythonic’s history:

Jayden Warriner – skin-slapping powerhouse on drums

Morgan Warriner – a vocalist with a beastly range that will leave your head spinning

Max Hiske – the latest addition, locking down the low end and slappin’ da bass with fury

Together, this lineup delivers the full-throttle sonic assault that defines Pythonic.

Morgan Warriner transitioned from bass to lead vocals, writing and learning a full setlist of songs ahead of Pythonic’s first show of 2025—Serenade Metal Fest in Edmonton, held in February.

During the early months of the year, Alex Conley filled in on bass. After Alex left to pursue school, he was replaced by bass phenom Max Hiske. By the end of June, Max played his first show with Pythonic, which also marked Morgan’s third performance as lead vocalist.

Just one week later, we had the honor of opening for local legends Lava Goat and international heavy-hitters 200 Stab Wounds.

Pythonic’s current lineup is a force to be reckoned with.
