    Anne Johnstonbrown interviews theatre actor, singer and life coach Robin Steege.

    Robin Steege’s career in Musical Theater has spanned over a 32-year period of time. Most of it spent on stage. However, for over 40 years, she has been leading personal crisis groups, speaking at weekend retreats, and doing motivational speaking. The last 15 years Life Coaching has been her passion, training for almost 5 years every summer at the Leadership Summit in Chicago. Robin is a Licensed Pastor in the state of CA and led a large Women’s Ministry in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for over 10 years.


    Robin’s expertise/passion in Life Coaching focuses on life strategies for personal trauma, moving through past history issues that are stopping the individual from moving forward and learning how to be “Emotionally Intelligent”. This work incorporates compassion, honesty, empathy, bravery, and active listening skills. Robin’s training enables her to see clearly where the need is and to carefully walk forward with an individual with safe and calm practices that leave the client able to absorb and feel like they can begin to unpack what is stopping them from their best life. Whether it is entertainment, corporate or just needing to move forward for emotional health.


    Robin’s Life Coaching with individuals in every area of the Art’s has been particularly important, as her love of musical theater has been at the heart of her life since she was a child. Robin’s Mother was an Opera Singer; her God Mother is Mary Costa (the original Sleeping Beauty in Disney’ 1959 movie) singing is second nature to her.


    Robin’s personal Mission Statement includes, being of service to others and helping those who have been through incredible difficulties in life to flourish. Robin’s own childhood trauma’s and life sadness’s have been the catalyst for her work and she knows that life can be wonderful if you do the hard work.

    Anne Johnstonbrown is an actor, filmmaker, musician and voiceover artist. She has a Master's Degree in Theatre Arts and has worked as an Adjunct Professor of Theatre Arts at several Southern California universities, including The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles where she taught Acting, Auditioning and the Business of Acting.

    As an internationally-renown songwriter, many of Anne's compositions can be heard worldwide, from Canada to Africa, on radio and beyond. She is also the author of several books of varying genres, including children’s and mainstream fiction and non-fiction. Her most celebrated works are The 10 Commandments of Theater and True to archeType: A Guide to Characterization in Comedy, both published by Smith & Kraus, the world’s largest publisher of theatre arts books.

    Over the past 30 years, Anne has enjoyed an illustrious career on the stage. As an Equity actor, Anne appeared on the famed Kodak Theatre stage (now The Dolby Theatre) as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and has toured the U.S. with other national shows. She is also an award-winning audiobook producer and has released nearly 100 published projects over the past decade, many of which are the works of New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors.

    Anne has a heart for the homeless and has spent the better part of a decade working with the residents of Skid Row in Los Angeles. Her book, My Name’s Lyman, chronicles the life of a homeless man and the various destinies he might have lived had he (or those around him) made different choices. The book became a hit musical in Los Angeles (LYMAN The Musical) and can now be seen in a series of award-winning short films (A Place Less Cold, Fortune In Gold, and Leaving My Past Behind). The screenplay for the feature film is currently being shopped for future production.

    Today, Anne splits her time between her homes in Las Vegas and Sedona, Arizona. She continues to work as a voiceover artist and sound engineer as she completes production on LYMAN The Movie. She also hosts a new podcast, The Actors Guide, geared to aspiring actors, which is chock full of career advice, method acting tips, and celebrity guest interviews. For fun, Anne likes to run marathons and teach kickboxing.
