Scene 7: The Oracle on the Veranda

Andy, accompanied by a pint of Hawkeye Bitter by his side, acts as a revered "oracle," welcoming a queue of adoring fans and young British tennis stars including Emma Raducanu, Jack Draper, and Cameron Norrie who have lined up to pay their respects. But when Norrie praises Andy's instructional book for offering a "veritable cornucopia of playing tips and tricks" that helped him win a major tournament, the security guards abruptly cut the audience short and trouble ahead beckons...

Episode 6 — Doctor’s Orders

Grace returns to the hospice with young tennis coach Cameron and a trophy from Andy’s glory days; but Mrs Carter refuses to let them see him. Her strangely possessive slip about “My…Mr Murray” is suspicious...

Andy attempts to escape from the hospice, only for Joan to reveal that he arrived mysteriously from Calais—and that an unknown benefactor still pays for his care. Who on earth could that be?

Grace and Joan attempt to explain what Andy has missed during his twelve mysterious years: lockdowns, vaccines, Brexit, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. Understandably ,Andy becomes convinced that everyone is playing a deeply suspicious trick on him.

Andy wakes to find Grace beside his bed—but he doesn’t recognise her, remember his tennis club or realise he has spent twelve years in the hospice; Andy soon has a furious encounter with Rosie, the robot vacuum cleaner.

Resting in bed is one Andy Murray - not that one, but a frail, feisty and extravagantly named Lord Andrew John Paul George Ringo Murray of Kirkintilloch.
