  • 191. Another State Fair Episode!?!?!?
    2026/08/31

Yup, it's that time of year again. With the winding down of summer comes the Great Minnesota Get-Together — The Minnesota State Fair. Arguably the greatest state fair there is.

And when the fair comes, Tim's retirement takes a holiday!

Listen as Amy goes through some of the new foods at this year's event. (Who would like a Mac & Cheese in a waffle cone, or perhaps some deep-fried corn-on-the-cob?)

And, what's the Fair's obsession with pickles? Pickle pie anyone?

Tim throws yet another beer challenge at Amy, can he finally stump her?

Thank you for supporting our podcast, we really appreciate the growth we're seeing! Please follow us on Spotify, it's free to subscribe and you don't even have to listen to us!

  • 190. Don't Complain About It!
    2026/08/24

How do you handle people who only seem to be happy when they complain? Do you jump into the fray and join the party, or try to deflect the complainer from the topic?

Do chronic complainers even want someone to solve their problem, or is it hardwired into their person as a coping mechanism that through years of complaining now gives them a sense of worth?

Tim and Amy discuss this topic as well as the latest beer-opening challenge (spoiler, Amy nails it!)

Shout out to Louisiana Grills and their support line! With their help I got up and smoking again on my vertical pellet smoker. (Thus leading to a brief discussion of chicken wings!!!) What do you prefer, dry rubbed or sauced?

Thank you for supporting our podcast. Please follow us on Spotify.

  • 189. Nothing is Original
    2026/08/17

Are there anymore original thoughts or ideas? Has everything been thought of, composed and written, or, as a society we are just too lazy to create and instead just reuse things that have already been done?

    Is a 5-gallon bucket ever worth $9 + tax?

What if comes packed with 24 cans of beer? That's certainly a great bargain, and as Amy would say, "you're losing money by not buying it."

Compare that to a Yeti 5-gallon bucket for $40! Of course the fully loaded bucket "with all the fixins" will run you $130.

  • 188. Glow Stick Pool Party, Beer, Dogs, and Who Gets to Travel with Mom?
    2026/08/09

This may be the quintessential-typical episode as Amy and Tim sit down with no idea what they are going to talk about, and when the episode is complete the question comes up, "What did we talk about?"

There's a little of everything in this episode with, of course, a description of beer. Recorded on a "Thirsty Thursday", instead of our typical "Fresh-Tapped Friday" perhaps that threw us off our game (probably not!)

How many glow sticks does it take to light up a pool after dark? 1,000, 1,500, 2,000? Another pool party will need to be done so Mom can participate (How Dare You!!!!)

How you treat a dog is a big indicator of what kind of person you are.

Does anyone else feel guilty how they treated their dog and attempt to make up for it with each successive dog? (Tim)

If you're reading this, then that means you're looking at this on Spotify, which means you must have a Spotify Account, and if you have a Spotify Account, and reading this, then you must be following us on Spotify, and if you're not — WTF!?!?!?!?!?!

  • 187. Am I the A$$hole?
    2026/08/03

Amy and Tim dive straight into the question of whether or not Tim is the problem. (In most cases the answer is obvious!)

Listen as Tim details his most recent bicycle adventure and near-death experience (of course he is soooo dramatic!!)

And why were so many bots in Vietnam downloading our episodes? What possible advantage could this lead to?

Thank you for supporting our podcast! Everyone knows the drill — like, share, follow, comment, critique, laugh, joke, tell your mother and enjoy a beer!!!!

  • 186. Beer!
    2026/07/19

It's become a part of every episode for Amy and Tim, so why not make almost the entire episode about it.

From "The Opening" to the ending, Amy and Tim chat about beer and how it just seems to hit differently in the summer.

Who wants to drink a cold beer when the temperature is flirting with negative numbers in the wintertime?

From our favorites (cold and free) to the places we like to refresh ourselves, the importance of having that comfortable place to enjoy a few adult beverages during the rather small window that is summer in Minnesota.

  • 185. Do You Hear Voices in Your Head?
    2026/07/12

Who else hears voices or has full blown conversations in their head? Listen as Amy and Tim discuss the benefits of playing out conversations within your head as a way to practice reacting based on your values and not your emotions.

The issue arises when you end up in an argument and wind up not speaking to yourself!

It's also said that "two heads are better than one" so by playing the devil's advocate, your internal discussions may lead to better outcomes when you actually face the situation.

    2026/07/06

What has been your favorite moment of the FIFA World Cup coming to North America? Is the Scots taking over pubs in Boston, the Oranje Fanwalk of the Netherland fans, or the reactions of many foreigners experiencing a bit of Americana?

Amy and Tim delve into this among other topics including Amy scoring on a penalty — which somehow has escaped her recollection!
