  • S3 Ep 4: Wimbledon Finals: Sinner's N°1 Mental Trick you Should Steal and How to Win the Battle of Nerves like Noskova
    2026/07/12

Linda Noskova and Jannik Sinner are the 2026 Wimbledon Champions!

In the all-Czech ladies’ final, Linda Noskova won the battle of the nerves that looked like until 6/2; 5/2 like a walk in the park for the youngest player of the two. And even though Muchova put on a heroic fight, won the second set after saving five match points, nothing could stand between Noskova and the Venus Rosewater Dish.

On the men’s side, despite a very solid performance from Alexander Zverev who held his own for two sets and a half, Sinner prevailed and has now won six grand slam titles. Was it the best final in the history of slams? No but, there are great learnings you can apply to your game.

Here are the key learnings from both finals:

1’30: How to start a high pressure match in the best mental conditions like Noskova did

*how to focus on yourself and not on your opponent

4’25: What to do when the pressure on winning a big tournament or a much better ranked player gets in the way

-Noskova’s strategy to reset after losing the second set

-How to play tactically in high tense situations

12’: The Mental Mistake that cost Muchova the title

-How to stay in the present and detach yourself from your main goal

-When do you need to set “improvement goals” vs. “results-oriented goals”

    19’45: Intro men’s final

20’20: How did Zverev used his experience winning the French Open to win the first set against Sinner

-What can you learn from Zverev to take responsibility to win crucial points

23’35: How can you copy Jannik “The Pressure” Sinner

-How does Sinner constantly apply pressure on his opponents even when his not playing his best tennis

-The one question you need to ask yourself to improve your mental game and become a serious threat for your opponents (29’40)

-How to use tactical variety to break your opponent’s rhythm (31’10)

Even though the drama has all the ingredients of a modern Greek tragedy, he's not the first one to do it and certainly not the last.

In this new episode of the Tennis Lounge Podcast, I give my take on this eternal debate: should parents coach their children or not ?

    -What are the most important questions you need to ask yourself before starting to coach your child;

-What makes a successful parent-child coaching duo?
