Im Richard Dugan, host of 'Tell Me Your Story”, NEW PARADIGMS FOR A NEW WORLD... To bring as many different points of view, from around the circle, into your view, to assist you in expanding your life and living. To assist in the positive evolution of mankind and bringing about a greater awareness of self and others in order to create the kind of world YOU want. A world in which we all can search for, find and fulfill our 'first best destiny'. GIVING YOU CHOICES AND KNOWLEDGE OF THOSE CHOICES TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE... You deserve to know 'the truth' about who you are, because that 'truth will set you free'. Knowing your past is fine. Knowing who you are now is greater. And knowing who you want to be and how to bring about that transformation is what 'Tell Me Your Story' is about. THE ONE THING YOU HAVE TO GAIN...IS...THE NEW WORLD YOU WANT! Since 2007, we've been producing TMYS, available at richarddugan.com/radioshow. My dream is to syndicate 'Tell MeYourStory' and take it on the road. Traveling to all parts of the world, talking with people who are living, working and playing in new ways that are changing the world, one person at a time. I have been interviewing for over 30 years, talking with thousands of; authors, musicians, light workers, metaphysicians, spiritualists, co-creators, body, mind and light workers, new thought people, visionaries, revolutionaries, inovators. We all have a story and mine is no greater or lesser than yours. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I was legally blind from birth. In spite or because of that, I went through 13 years of school not knowing what I wanted to do and so I went to Communtiy College and worked in the AV Department. I found out about a job with 'Sun Sounds' Radio Reading Service, for the blind and visually impaired. I not only became a client, I started working there August 29, 1979 and never “looked” back. On March 6, 1996, I received a lens implant and went from 20/200 or worse to 20/80 overnight. Within just a few months, I was learning to drive a car. A dream I had given up in acceptance of the way I was, legally blind. And that was 'ok'. Bicycling was just fine for me. Then my marriage of 15 years came to an end and I met Amrita Ma. We married and moved to her home town of Santa Barbara and we both started a new life 5 minutes for her childhood home. We've been to Ireland twice and dream of living there one day very soon. I dreamed I would drive, travel to far away places, share the love with someone with a very open, loving heart, live by the sea, have my own radio show, teach others my craft, meet new and exciting souls. I am working on 2 books and more. What are your dreams?........ I will share more thoughts later. RDAll rights reserved スピリチュアリティ

  • Barry Maher - The Great Dick And the Dysfunctional Demon
    2026/09/30
I thought this might be of interest as an interview about an unexplained creative experience at the intersection of consciousness, imagination, and the mystery of where stories come from. After a baseball-sized brain tumor upended Barry Maher’s career, he went into surgery not knowing what kind of life would be waiting for him afterward. What he woke up with was something he never expected: a full-blown, vivid, horrific story playing in his mind, like a memory of something he had just watched. Ultimately that story became the seed of Maher’s new novel, The Great Dick: And the Dysfunctional Demon (Crystal Lake Publishing), whose title parodies both The Great Gatsby and Moby-Dick. Maher, a nationally syndicated humorist, does not claim to know exactly how the story materialized, or where it came from. Was it an anesthesia-induced hallucination? The result of a seizure during surgery? Something his unconscious mind had somehow assembled? Or something stranger? But he does know that the experience did not feel like either ordinary dreaming or conscious invention. It felt less like making something up than remembering something that had already happened. And that left him with questions he still thinks about: Is the conscious mind always where a story begins? Or is it sometimes where something already formed finally rises into awareness? Maher is available for interviews or podcast conversations diving deeper into these questions and exploring: Why he resists calling the experience a dream What the experience suggests about consciousness and where experience begins What it suggests about creativity and where stories come from How he holds open multiple explanations — anesthesia, seizure activity, imagination, or something stranger — without claiming certainty Why it’s important to pay attention to the strange material that surfaces when conscious control loosens Why the mystery may be more valuable than the explanation Barry’s bio is below. Would you be interested in speaking with Barry or receiving a copy of his book? ABOUT BARRY MAHER Barry Maher (www.BarryMaher.com) is the product of four years at the University of Notre Dame, an hour and a half in the graduate journalism program at UC Berkeley, and five befuddled weeks at the Whopper College of the Burger King Corp. In his misspent youth, his articles appeared in perhaps a hundred different publications and, in order to eat, he held nearly that many different jobs. Sometimes he lived on the beach. Not in a house on the beach. On the beach. With the sand and the seagulls. Then he started telling his stories to audiences. More importantly, he started telling his stories to audiences and charging. That took him all over the country and around the world, with a client list that is a Who’s Who of leading corporations, associations, and cruise lines. You may have seen Barry on The Today Show or CNBC, or in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, or in his own Slightly Off-Kilter syndicated column. On the downside, he’s also been incarcerated twice: once for not making a left-hand turn out of a left-hand turn lane, and once for aiding and abetting a loiterer. He’s deeply repentant.

  • Vicky Oliver - FIREBRANDS
    2026/10/08
https://vickyoliver.com/firebrands-fiction-author/ https://vickyoliver.com I grew up in the world of advertising. My three parents were all account people: it was like living in a version of the TV show Mad Men, except much later, after the era of the three-martini lunch had passed into oblivion. My three parents believed in "tough love," and so instead of gaining an edge, I started in advertising as a lowly receptionist. I answered phones, was promoted to something called "Traffic" that had nothing to do with cars, was later promoted to something called "Coach" that had nothing to do with sports until I was a Creative Director and could hire people. They would roll into my office thirty minutes late and have no idea who the agency was or who our clients were. About a hundred times I thought to myself, "One day I am going to write about job interviewing, because you, buddy, are blowing this interview!" So one day, I did write a book about interviewing. In that book, I gave out my email address and asked readers to share their interviewing horror stories with me. They did--and that paved the way for five additional nonfiction primers targeting the stressed-out career professional. After publishing six nonfiction career books at medium-sized presses, I decided that I wanted to write a more personal story: about Manhattan, where my ancestors have resided for generations. Two of my ancestors on my father's side were tailors. Equipped with letters from my relatives and photographs, I started my own research. I decided to set my novel in Manhattan during 1908, at the boiling point of the early women's movement, the early labor movement, and the anarchy movement. My protagonist Helena James is a bit of a trouble magnet, and she gets into more trouble in a few hundred pages than I hope most of us will see in our lifetimes!
