Tony Rockliff who is a technical expert, AI consultant, multimedia and record producer, songwriter and an educator whose career spans music, media and emerging technologies.
He began in the music industry as a musician, recording engineer, composer, songwriter and record producer, developing a deep understanding of the creative process and the technologies that help artists bring ideas to life.
Over the course of his career, Tony worked in various recording capacities with acclaimed artists and entertainment figures including Mary Wells, Lamont Dozier, Cat Stevens, Billy Ocean, Beck, The Temptations, Alan Parsons, George Martin, Paul Carrack, Brian Johnson, Ray Manzarek, Elaine Paige, Albert Lee, Aynsley Dunbar, Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea, Sha Na Na, David Pomeranz, Stacey Keach and Chuck Lorre.
As a producer, he recorded for labels including Decca, AIR, Sony, Columbia, Hansa, Mowest, Magnet and Trend Records. As a songwriter, he held publishing agreements with companies including Intune, Dick James Music, Red Bus and Creative Music.
Tony achieved several recording successes and pioneered innovative studio techniques, including what he identifies as the first use of a combined bass-and-drum loop on a commercially released record. From the early 1980s, he operated his own analog and MIDI studios and expanded into videography, writing, multimedia production, marketing and artist-development seminars.
His interest in emerging technology led him into the digital world. In 1998, Tony created and grew a pioneering online 3D virtual-reality community to more than 1.3 million members. The platform included an AI chatbot that moderated hundreds of chat rooms and guided new users, long before artificial intelligence became a mainstream business and creative tool.
Over the following decades, Tony combined his experience in music, media and online communities with practical AI development. He has built more than 100 custom AI tools and vibe-coded applications, integrated AI into multimedia and marketing workflows, and delivered as many as ten AI seminars a month for nearly three years.
Today, Tony is the founder of the Florida-based AI Connection Club, an interactive community where artists, entrepreneurs and AI-curious professionals can explore practical tools, attend workshops, exchange ideas and stay current with emerging technology. His mission is to make AI simple, useful and enjoyable, especially for people who may feel overwhelmed by its rapid evolution.
As a newly minted member of the McCartney.ai Advisory Council, Tony contributes the perspective of a builder, educator, creative technologist and community leader who understands both human creativity and the systems that can help develop, refine and distribute it. His background in music production, virtual communities, custom AI development and live training aligns directly with McCartney Studios’ mission to help artists, entrepreneurs, brands and storytellers use AI in practical, ethical, imaginative and commercially valuable ways.

  • TeaFlix Interview with Scott Freiman (Beatles Author)
    2026/09/30

    Send us Fan Mail

Our guest is Beatles author, lecturer, composer and musician Scott Freiman, creator of the acclaimed Deconstructing the Beatles series, which has taken audiences deep inside some of the most famous recordings in popular music history.

Scott joins us to talk about his fascinating new book, co-written with noted Beatles historian and author Professor Kenneth Womack, *The Beatles’ Touring Era: Inside the Fab Four’s Musical Artistry, Song by Song, 1962–1966*, being published by Bloomsbury Academic in November 2026.

And despite the title, this isn’t simply another book about Beatlemania, screaming fans and life on the road.

Scott and Ken take us inside the actual music, beginning with *Please Please Me* and following that extraordinary journey through *With the Beatles*, *A Hard Day’s Night*, *Beatles for Sale*, *Help!*, *Rubber Soul* and ultimately *Revolver*.

In just four astonishing years, John, Paul, George and Ringo evolved from a hardworking Liverpool rock and roll band into musicians and songwriters who were completely reimagining what could be accomplished inside a recording studio.

The book explores the songs, instruments, arrangements, recording techniques and the invaluable contributions of George Martin, Norman Smith and Geoff Emerick, revealing how those records we’ve heard hundreds of times were actually put together.

So put the kettle on, turn up the volume, and prepare to hear the Beatles with a fresh pair of ears.

  • TeaFlix Interview with Terry Crain
    2026/09/01
Send us Fan MailTerry Crain - whose fascination with The Beatles began on February 9, 1964, when he watched the group’s historic first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. That moment sparked a lifelong interest in The Beatles and the popular culture surrounding the British Invasion. Over the decades, his interest developed into detailed archival research into the business, licensing and collectibles that accompanied the group’s phenomenal rise in America. He is perhaps best known for NEMS and the Business of Selling Beatles Merchandise in the U.S. 1964–1966, an extensively illustrated study of the roughly 150 officially licensed Beatles products and promotions marketed in America during the height of Beatlemania. The book examines everything from dolls, toys and games to clothing, jewelry, wigs and other memorabilia, while also exploring how Brian Epstein’s NEMS organization handled the complicated business of Beatles licensing. The second edition contains hundreds of photographs and illustrations.Crain followed this with the ambitious Copyrighting The Beatles, a three-volume research project documenting more than 900 Beatles and Beatles-related copyrights from the mid-1960s. His research uncovered an extraordinary range of material, including toys, games, artwork, photographs, cartoons, sculptures, sheet music, television material and hundreds of novelty recordings inspired by the group. In 2026, Crain expanded his research with Beatles Novelty Songs (1964–1966), a massive, graphically illustrated study devoted to nearly 500 novelty songs inspired by The Beatles. The approximately 650-page book investigates the performers, musicians, stories and musical styles behind these often forgotten recordings, which ranged from rock and country to jazz, polka, surf, ska, bluegrass, folk and spoken word. Before becoming a full-time researcher and author, Crain spent more than 35 years in education, including more than three decades at John A. Logan College in Illinois, where he served as Dean for Student Services. His background as an educator is reflected in the meticulous research and accessible storytelling of his Beatles work.Over the years, Crain has interviewed or encountered numerous figures connected with The Beatles and 1960s popular music, including Klaus Voormann, Astrid Kirchherr, Pattie Boyd, Louise Harrison, Billy Preston, Victor Spinetti, Tony Barrow, Alistair Taylor, Robert Freeman, Pete Best, Donovan, Gerry Marsden, Denny Laine, Joey Molland, Peter Noone, Ronnie Spector, Alan Parsons and members of The Quarrymen, among many others.Crain also co-hosts Beatles-related interview programs and manages several online communities devoted to Beatles memorabilia and 1960s music. Through his faBgear activities, he continues to research, document and preserve the fascinating artifacts and stories that demonstrate just how deeply Beatlemania penetrated everyday life and popular culture. In short: Terry Crain has carved out a distinctive place among Beatles historians by researching the things that existed beyond the records and concerts: the toys, souvenirs, copyrights, novelty songs and cultural ephemera that helped turn four musicians from Liverpool into a worldwide phenomenon. The newest book in the wild and wacky Beatles genre is "Beatles Novelty Songs (1964-1966)." Songwriters wrote about 500 Beatles novelty songs between 1964 and 1966. Every subject, every situation, every holiday, every heartfelt longing, and every social issue seemed to be covered by these wonderful songs. Even though they weren't dotting the charts, their power was unquestionable. Fact-filled and graphically rich, the 650+-page, 2" thick, 5-pound book chronologically lists each song with added information about who recorded them, who the musicians were, and other fun facts. Since The Beatles were rock and roll, you'd think all the novelty songs were in that music genre. But you would be wrong. There were Beatles novelty records in the genres of American folk, British folk, foxtrot, jive, samba, bluegrass, doo-wop, country, rock & roll, big band, blues, jazz, orchestral, spoken-word, surf, ska, and polka! The book lists songs from the U.S., Germany, South Africa, England, Belgium, Jamaica, Canada, Scotland, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago and more. The roots and branches of Beatles Novelty Songs family tree are amazing, so enjoy our latest book! It's a festive confetti of great Beatles Novelty songs!Learn more and shop at https://fabgear.companyTeaflix is sponsored by https://MrsMcCartneysTeas.com Thanks for tuning in to TeaFlix - learn more about the hosts at https://MrsMcCartneyTeas.com and https://RuthMcCartney.comSupport the showLearn more about Dr. Angie & Ruth at https://MrsMcCartneysTeas.com and https://RuthMcCartney.com
