  • #68 David Bland - Think Big, Test Small: Turning creative concepts into real opportunities
    2026/06/22
How do you take a raw idea, challenge it, test it, and turn it into something real without losing the spark that made it exciting in the first place? In this episode, David Bland explores how bold concepts can become testable prototypes, how hidden assumptions shape what succeeds or fails, and why the smartest teams learn before they build. We talk about protecting unconventional ideas, embracing low fidelity experiments, and finding better ways to measure progress when innovation is still taking shape. A must listen for teams and creators looking to transform ideas into products with less guesswork and more learning. Questions to ask yourself: Which assumption behind my idea am I treating as fact without actually testing it? Am I building this solution because users truly need it, or because the idea simply feels exciting to me? What is the fastest and simplest experiment I could run to learn whether this idea is worth pursuing? Am I trying to prove my idea is right, or am I genuinely willing to discover that it is wrong? Would you like to know what lies behind the ability to be creative and would you like to learn how to train and cultivate your creativity for yourself? Then take a look at our Master Class program and let yourself be inspired by this wonderful skill.

  • #67 David Cropley - Breaking the Mold: How unconventional thinking disrupts traditional engineering
    2026/05/18
In a world where AI can calculate, optimize, and automate faster than ever, what remains the true human edge? In this episode, we talk with David Cropley, a renowned expert in creativity, innovation, and engineering, about why real competitive advantage will come from human creativity. David brings deep insight into how engineers and innovators can move beyond routine problem solving and become better problem finders, reframing challenges and asking the questions machines cannot ask on their own. Together, we discuss why creativity is a skill that can be developed, how failed ideas often become the starting point for breakthroughs, and why unconventional thinking is essential in modern engineering. A thought provoking conversation about the future of innovation, and why human imagination matters more, not less, in the age of AI. Questions to ask yourself: Are you really thinking creatively, or just repeating familiar patterns in a smarter way? If AI can do your routine work better and faster, what is the uniquely human value you bring? Do you give up on ideas too early just because they look like failure at first? Are you solving the right problem, or are you simply staying busy with the wrong one? Would you like to know what lies behind the ability to be creative and would you like to learn how to train and cultivate your creativity for yourself? Then take a look at our Master Class program and let yourself be inspired by this wonderful skill.
