This was a wild weekend for me. I love tournament golf because it reveals so much about your character, the state of your game and you get to see how you're going to show up. I did not play very well and as you will hear I had some profound takeaways from this weekend.
This first, I had an old golf story buried alive deep inside I had no idea was there. I guess it decided it was time to see the light. And, yeah, I cried...
The second, my lack of stellar play and playful griping at the scoring table lead me to an amazing two hour conversation with Gary Ward, General Manager of Mad River Golf Club. Gary is a very accomplished player and he was curious and kind enough to sit down to try and sort through what my on course challenges are. I learned a tremendous amount during this convo, as Gary was full of nuggets of wisdom and insights.
Although it was not the weekend I was expecting, like anything in life, it definitely feels like it was the weekend that was meant for me.
