Have you ever wondered why God is making you WAIT? ❤️

When we left Joseph in Part 1, he was sitting in prison.

He had faithfully interpreted the cupbearer’s dream and asked him to remember him.

But the cupbearer forgot.

And Joseph waited…

TWO MORE YEARS.

Then suddenly, Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret.

The cupbearer remembered Joseph.

Joseph was brought out of the dungeon, stood before Pharaoh, and when Pharaoh told him he had heard Joseph could interpret dreams, Joseph gave one of the most powerful answers in his story:

📖 “I cannot do it… but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.” — Genesis 41:16

Joseph didn’t promote himself.

HE PROMOTED GOD. 🙌

And in what appears to happen incredibly quickly, Joseph goes from PRISONER to second-in-command over EGYPT.

But God had been preparing Joseph for YEARS.

Potiphar’s house was preparation.

The prison was preparation.

Managing people was preparation.

Waiting was preparation.

And when God’s appointed time arrived, everything changed.

One of my favorite moments happens when Joseph’s brothers are terrified because they’re being taken to his house.

They imagine they’re about to be attacked, overpowered, and made slaves.

But what was REALLY happening?

A TABLE was being prepared for them. ❤️

Fear was telling them one story.

The truth was completely different.

Maybe you’re looking at circumstances in your own life today and wondering:

“God, what are You doing?”

Remember Joseph.

DON’T JUDGE GOD’S PLAN FROM THE MIDDLE OF YOUR STORY.

The delay does NOT mean God has forgotten you.

The closed door does NOT mean there isn’t another way.

And what fear is telling you is not necessarily the truth.

What if the difficult chapter you’re walking through right now is NOT the end of your story? ❤️

Welcome to Part 1 of my three-part series on the incredible story of Joseph.

Joseph received a dream from God at 17 years old—but what happened next looked NOTHING like the dream.

He was betrayed by his brothers.
Thrown into a pit.
Sold into slavery.
Taken far away from his family.
Falsely accused.
Thrown into prison.
And eventually forgotten.

Yet throughout Joseph’s story, Scripture keeps reminding us:

“The LORD was with Joseph.”

His circumstances changed—but GOD’S PRESENCE DIDN’T.

In this episode, we walk through Genesis 37, 39 and 40 and look at Joseph’s dreams, his brothers’ jealousy, God’s protection and favor, Joseph’s integrity in Potiphar’s house, temptation, false accusation, the cupbearer and baker, and what it means to keep trusting God when you cannot see what He is doing.

We’ll also talk about an important truth:

God’s favor doesn’t always LOOK like favor while you’re walking through the middle of the story.

The pit wasn’t the end.

Slavery wasn’t the end.

The false accusation wasn’t the end.

Prison wasn’t the end.

And whatever difficult season you’re walking through today—God is still working.

🔥 What do you do when you KNOW God has called you to something—but opposition keeps coming?

Nehemiah was given an assignment from God: rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

But the moment he began moving forward, opposition came.

Mockery.
Threats.
Fear.
Lies.
Intimidation.
Distraction.
Deception.

But Nehemiah refused to quit.

He PRAYED.
He sought GOD first.
He walked in OBEDIENCE.
He asked God for FAVOR.
He used WISDOM and DISCERNMENT.
And he KEPT BUILDING.

When his enemies tried repeatedly to lure him away from his assignment, Nehemiah answered:

📖 “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down.” — Nehemiah 6:3

What a message for us today!

DON’T COME DOWN FROM THE WALL.

Don't abandon what God has put in your heart because opposition showed up.

Don't let criticism stop you.

Don't let fear weaken your hands.

Don't let lies distract you.

Don't allow every invitation or opportunity to pull you away from your God-given assignment.

PRAY. PREPARE. OBEY. STAND. AND KEEP BUILDING.

🙏 Ask Him for discernment.
🙏 Ask Him for favor.
🙏 Listen for His direction.
🙏 And be obedient when He tells you what to do.

What if the darkest season of your life isn’t the end of your story—but the place where God is preparing you for what comes NEXT? 🌱

Before a seed ever breaks through the soil, something incredible happens where nobody can see it.

**Roots begin to grow.**

And throughout the Bible, we see God working in people's lives during seasons that looked dark, delayed, difficult, and even impossible.

Moses had the wilderness before God used him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

Joseph had the pit, slavery, and prison before God elevated him in Egypt and used him to help save people during the famine.

Jonah had the belly of the fish before going to Nineveh.

Daniel had the lions' den.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had the fiery furnace.

David had the wilderness and caves before the throne.

And Jesus had the cross and the tomb before the RESURRECTION.

There is a pattern:

**Darkness → Preparation → Breakthrough → Purpose**

Maybe you're walking through your own hidden season right now.

You’ve prayed.

You’ve believed.

You’ve tried to obey God.

But nothing seems to be changing.

**Don't assume that because you can't SEE God working, God isn't working.**

Maybe He's strengthening your faith.

Maybe He's developing your character.

Maybe He's teaching you patience and obedience.

Maybe He's redirecting you.

Maybe He's developing roots strong enough to carry the fruit you've been asking Him for.

📖 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

Do you know the AUTHORITY Jesus Christ has given you?

Jesus said: “I have given you authority… to overcome all the power of the enemy.” — Luke 10:19

Yet many Christians don’t fully understand the authority they have IN CHRIST. The enemy wants you distracted, discouraged, afraid, and believing his lies. But Jesus showed us how to respond.

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus answered:

“IT IS WRITTEN.”

Jesus responded to deception with the WORD OF GOD.

And we can do the same.

In this episode of Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis, we’re talking about how to recognize the enemy’s schemes, put on the full Armor of God, use the Sword of the Spirit, resist the devil, and STAND firmly on God’s Word.

JESUS is our focus.

Satan is not equal to God. Jesus has already won the victory.

Colossians 2:15 tells us Christ disarmed the powers and authorities and triumphed over them through the cross.

When you recognize a lie of the enemy, remember:

RECOGNIZE. REJECT. REPLACE. RESIST.

“And after you have done everything, to stand.” — Ephesians 6:13

Submit to God.
Put on your armor.
Know your Bible.
Speak God’s truth.
Resist the enemy.
And STAND.

The enemy has schemes…

but JESUS has already WON.

# Satan Is Real — But So Is Your Authority in Christ

**Satan is real. Demons are real. Spiritual warfare is real. But Jesus Christ has already won the victory.**

One of Satan’s greatest schemes is deception. If he can convince you that he doesn’t exist, why would you guard yourself against his lies? Why would you put on the Armor of God? Why would you resist him?

The Bible tells us:

**“In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” — 2 Corinthians 2:11**
