The Isle of Lewis Revival Story presents an intriguing historical narrative on one of the most significant spiritual moves in the UK over the last century. The programme traces the events, people and spiritual dynamics of the revival, drawing out themes of prayer, repentance and renewal that can inspire the church in today’s ‘post-Christian society’. It offers both a compelling story and a reminder of what God can do in a community fully surrendered to Him.TWR UK キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 聖職・福音主義

Before the Awakening: Lewis on the Brink of Revival
    2026/10/03
In this episode, we explore Lewis in the years following the Second World War, a community facing economic hardship, depopulation, and growing uncertainty about its future. While the island's Christian heritage remains strong, many sense a spiritual weariness beneath the surface and a deep longing for renewal. It is a time marked by both desperation and hope, as ordinary people and church leaders alike look for God to move in a fresh way. Looking back, these social and spiritual pressures form the backdrop to the remarkable revival that is about to unfold, setting the stage for the extraordinary events ahead. https://www.twr.org.uk/join/

  • The Hidden Foundations: Prayer Before Revival

The Hidden Foundations: Prayer Before Revival
    2026/10/10
In this episode, we explore the quiet beginnings of the Lewis Revival through the lives of a small group of faithful people who carry a deep burden for spiritual renewal. From the praying sisters in Barvas to the scattered gatherings meeting persistently in prayer, we see that revival does not begin with dramatic crowds or public events, but with hidden faithfulness and a longing for God to move. Beneath the surface of an apparently stagnant community, hope is being sustained, prayers are being offered, and the foundations are being laid for something far greater than anyone can yet see. https://www.twr.org.uk/join/

  • The Night in the Barn: Memory, Prayer and the Spark of Revival

The Night in the Barn: Memory, Prayer and the Spark of Revival
    2026/10/17
In this episode, we examine the famous barn prayer meeting that has become one of the defining moments in the story of the Lewis Revival. Looking beyond the familiar retellings, we explore who was present, what likely happened that night, and why a young man's passionate prayer for purity continues to resonate so deeply. We consider how memory, testimony, and history interact in revival narratives, separating well-attested facts from later embellishments. Above all, the story reminds us that revival rarely begins with a sudden explosion of activity. Instead, it emerges from a deeper process of prayer, spiritual hunger, and faithful persistence, making the barn meeting less a dramatic starting point and more a visible sign that something had already been stirring beneath the surface. https://www.twr.org.uk/join/
