Today, savers have access to more financial information than ever through YouTube, Google, seminars, social media and AI. But understanding part of a financial strategy can sometimes create a false sense of confidence—especially when that strategy is applied without considering the rest of the retirement plan. In this episode of The Worry-Free Retirement, Tony Walker and Trey Juergens examine several pieces of retirement advice that can sound reasonable on the surface but may create unintended consequences when applied as blanket rules. The idea came from a prospective client who had been researching financial products on his own. Tony says the man understood quite a bit—but several things he believed to be facts were only partially correct. He was, as Trey put it, “just wrong enough” that acting on the information could have created problems.
