On this edition of The Research Report, Associate Professor Angela Zombek of the History Department at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington talks with host Professor David W. Bulla about her Civil War research. She is In Augusta to give the Hazel DIcken-Garcia Distinguished Lecture at the Sachsman Symposium on the Nineteenth Century Press, the Civil War, and Free Expression, which is being held at Augusta University on NOv. 13-15, 2025. Zombek talks about her books Extraordinary Crisis during the American Civil War, from Kent State University Press, published in 2018, and Stronghold of the Union: Key West Under Martial Law, from the University Press of Florida.
