With Dylan Evans & Graeme Smith

The world’s falling apart. Quietly. Stupidly. In 4K.

Based (very loosely) on the r/collapse subreddit — where calm, well-educated people document the slow death of civilisation — The Social Meltdown is a weekly glance at the chaos. Climate dread. AI hallucinations. Tech cults. Influencers crying in ring lights and UNHINGED politics.

Dylan Evans has millions of followers and the quick witted reflexes of someone raised inside the algorithm. Graeme Smith has a national radio show and a stack of podcast awards — which sounds respectable until you hear what he does with this.

It’s recorded remotely: no studio, no filter, no sense of control. Just two long-time mates, decent mics, great lighting, and a browser full of bad news.

Sometimes it's dark, usually it's funny...sometimes it's wholesome... because you've got to make the most of these final days.

Unfiltered, chaotic, and weirdly comforting – Guaranteed... you will soil yourself with delight xoxoxo

  • 20 years left if we're lucky...Your two favourite prophets have returned to chart the end of days!
    2025/07/13

Experts say the collapse of civilisation isn’t coming — it’s already underway. So we decided to loosely base a show on the expert doomerist sub reddit r/collapse. It's democratically moderated by people with the right qualifications and temperament to pass on the verified info about civilisation unravelling. People take comfort in the sobering pessimistic facts, they make the days count.

From nuclear war to climate-triggered volcanic mega-eruptions, the next two decades are looking… spicy.

Dylan Evans (chronically online gen z/milennial / internet treasure/ showbiz royalty on Merseyside) ) and Graeme Smith (elder millennial/ queer/ ex pat scouse/ national broadcasting's best kept secret) dig into the headlines and research that suggest humanity might have about 20 years left, max. But don’t panic — or do, but also remember to take time out to p*ss your pants laughing.

This is your emergency broadcast, only with better microphones and worse coping mechanisms.

    🎙️ In this episode:

    • How many ways can civilisation collapse? (Spoiler: loads)
    • How the sub reddit r/collapse is taking a sensible informed approach to the gradual end of times.
    • The bit about how all the mega volcanoes might be planning something.
    • And whether it's still worth buying nice clothes

    📉 Doom. Lols. Facts.

Graeme and Dylan are documenting the downfall so you don’t have to.

  • EPISODE ZERO: grow your baby in a bag because childbirth is like toothache.
    2025/07/04

In this 10-minute mini pilot, Dylan Evans (UK TikTok star and showbiz royalty on Merseyside) and Graeme Smith (award-winning LGBTQ+ podcaster and national radio voice of reason) give you a flavour of what happens when two longtime work mates from Liverpool start spiralling.

It’s messy. It’s honest. It’s got jokes. It may or may not include a rant about some weird but compelling issue from the depths of their FYPs. On this occasion it's the baby in a bag. The future of fertility.

Think of it as the amuse bouche before the algorithmic abyss.

    2025/07/04

Leading UK TikTok creator Dylan Evans and award-winning LGBTQ+ podcaster Graeme Smith are two long-time mates from Liverpool who dive headfirst into their news feeds – then try to make sense of what they find.

From AI coming to eat us all, to Trump’s latest meltdown, to the slow death of humanity via social media bed-rotting – it’s all fair game.

Sometimes it's dark. Sometimes it's wholesome.

Sometimes it's just two men having a minor breakdown over pop culture and the absurdity of modern life.

Unfiltered, chaotic, and weirdly comforting – it’s the end of the world, but make it funny.

Prepare to open your mind, expand your outlook ... and possibly soil yourself with delight. x
