Syracuse field hockey’s perfect season hit a snag as No. 12 Syracuse fell to No. 20 Rutgers in a dramatic shootout after a tense, scoreless overtime. Taylor Bigbie opened the scoring early, but Rutgers tied it late via Olivia Fraticelli, with an earlier goal overturned by video review. Goalie Jessie Eiselin made eight saves to keep Syracuse in it, but Rutgers won the shootout 4-1. The loss marks Syracuse’s first of the season, dropping them to 3-1. They’ll hit the road again next Sunday against Bucknell, wrapping up a tough five-game road stretch.
