Enter biomedical engineer Carson Bruns and his breakthrough with "PhotoTat" technology: dynamic, light-switchable tattoo ink that can be turned on with ultraviolet light and concealed or deactivated using specific wavelengths of ambient light or sunlight. Instead of physically ripping pigment from the dermal layer via lasers, this chemistry allows a tattoo to remain invisible until the wearer chooses to reveal it, lasting through multiple cycles of toggling on and off.
