On this inspiring episode of the Black Boss Ladies Platform Podcast, we sit down with Terea "Coach T" Goodwin, the transformative leader behind the O'Fallon Park Rec Complex YMCA Makos Swim Team. Coach T shares her remarkable journey from swimmer to head coach and how she turned a struggling team of fewer than 10 swimmers into a thriving, championship-caliber program of nearly 40 athletes.
Taking over as Head Coach in 2017, Coach T committed herself to mastering the sport, learning every rule, and developing the leadership skills necessary to build a culture of excellence. Her efforts paid off as she led the Makos to back-to-back 2nd Place finishes at the Heartland Regional YMCA Championships while helping student-athletes earn opportunities for college swim scholarships.
