In today’s lesson, we’re focusing specifically on the Swahili past tense.

You’ll learn how the past tense marker -li- fits into the verb structure and how to combine it with your subject prefix and verb stem.

The good news is that once you understand how Swahili verbs are built, you don’t need to memorize a completely different formula every time you learn a new tense.

You’re working with the same basic structure and changing the tense marker.
