Forensics reveal the worms are synthetic parasites, found in the Thakur's blood too, as a trident-shaped mark spreads on Vihan's neck; he races home to find Ruhani possessed and Kriti unconscious, and the caretaker gloating that Vihan's father was part of the same chain.

Investigating the store room, Vihan hears Pratham blame Devdhar Babu and finds dead, stiffened white worms by the window, the first link in the mystery, while Swarna notices a faint red mark on his neck.

Thakur Balwant Singh is found unconscious and bleeding in the store room, and with elections a year away and his feud with MLA Devdhar Babu simmering, the town whispers of an attack and Pratham calls the police.

A flashback shows Ruhani attacked in a dark washroom three years ago and saved by a stranger as she blacks out; in the present a nightmare of a corpse rising from the earth wakes her, and she vows not to run this time.

A wild-eyed old man warns Pratham that 'she will come and take what is hers'; that night the Thakur meets a black-clad Kamini and two eight-year-old ghosts in the store room, as Pratham and Ruhani wake screaming at the same moment.

At the library Pratham quietly signs as guarantor on Ruhani's membership form, and Vihan, trusting the Singh siblings, urges her to accept, unaware she has just touched a thread left unfinished three years ago.

A flashback shows Pratham three years ago watching Ruhani from his window as a friend warns him off; in the present he needles Vihan at the park, then waits for Ruhani at the library with a cold gleam as white worms creep through his room.

Ruhani and Pratham trade easy banter over the book and Pratham is quietly smitten, surprising Swarna with plans for a Saturday party while she secretly resolves to invite Vihan.
