    The Jackson man who shot two people outside a Waffle House in March of 2022 has been sentenced to 50 years in prison. Marco Lewis was found guilty of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon on Monday.

    Razor blades were found shoved into loaves of bread at a Walmart Superstore on CT Switzer Drive in Biloxi on Monday, and now Biloxi police have informed WLOX that the same thing happened at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road. Thankfully, there haven't been any injuries.

    A couple of lucky Mississippians are no doubt celebrating after winning back-to-back Mississippi Match 5 jackpots. A Mississippi Match 5 ticket purchased for the December 13 drawing at Sun Express in Tupelo matched all five numbers to capture an over $250,000 jackpot. On December 14, a ticket sold at The Oaks in Moss Point matched all five numbers to win $50,000.

  • Westlake to cease operation of PVC plant in Aberdeen

    According to WTVA, Westlake Corporation has approved a plan to cease operations at its PVC plant in Aberdeen and will also close several facilities in Louisiana. However, the PVC plant isn't the only part of their Aberdeen facility. Operations will continue at the compounds and plasticizer plant.

Police were called to investigate the discovery, but so far, there are no suspects. Plus, state leaders on Monday announced the launch of the Great Mississippi Nature Trail, a new initiative designed to connect residents and visitors to natural outdoor spaces across the state.
