    We're learning more about the man who was killed in an hours-long standoff with police in Saucier on Wednesday. Jason Simmons' parents told WLOX that the 40-year-old was suffering from a psychotic episode and believed the Harrison County deputies who came to their house were people trying to kill him. According to family members, Jason suffered brain damage in a car crash in 2018, and his behavior had only become erratic over the past three months. They got a court order for a psychiatric evaluation that was signed by a judge on Tuesday. Harrison County deputies were serving the court order Wednesday when Simmons displayed a gun and barricaded himself in a shed on the property. According to state investigators, Simmons exchanged rounds with deputies around 10 p.m.
