    A suspect with a violent criminal history has been arrested after allegedly beating a truck stop clerk and trying to gouge out the clerk's eyes on Monday. According to police, 40-year-old Charlie Jones of Yazoo City argued with a clerk at the 35/55 Truck Stop on Highway 35 in Vaiden over the price of gas. After brutally beating the victim, Jones allegedly retrieved a gun from his vehicle and went back and demanded the money from the register.
