Clare, Rachel and Graeme return to talk about Clare's experiences exhibiting and giving demonstrations on photography in China as well as giving talks AND performing as her musical alter ego Mirror Gaze, Rachel has been out getting inspired by the work of Lee Miller, and Graeme got wet on a hill in Wales - business as usual all round.

We also talk about the recent Holga week which we were lucky enough to be involved in the judging of, and we discuss ways of still shooting even when the weather says stay indoors. Worth noting, Clare just listens to the weather.

Take part in the Cheap Shots Challenge! The subject for this round is Embrace the Darkness, so get out there and do that (although don't just run up and hug Justin Hawkins, he seems like he wouldn't love that). 2025/09/28

  • Ep. 364 The dark horse darkroom must have
    2025/08/18

This episode we're joined by the wonderful and only slightly mad genius behind all things Cameradactyl, Ethan Moses! We talk about how he's designed a complete system to allow us to shoot large format images on rolls of paper, including a full processing system to allow for easy development, even if you want to shoot colour reversal. He also explains why a 3D printer may be an increasingly valuable piece of kit for any photographer.

You can find all of Ethan's fantastic work here: https://www.cameradactyl.com/

  • Ep. 362 Guess Who's Back?
    2025/07/16

Today marks another big step in arguably one of the most important ongoing projects in the analogue photography world, Harman Technologies work to develop a high quality new colour film. The launch of Phoenix 2 is, whilst by no means the end of this journey still an exciting look at the incredible process they are making, and a fun and highly useable film itself.

Joining Rachel and Graeme to talk all about it, what exactly it is (and isn't), the improvements and changes over the original Phoenix film and the quirks it still has is the fabulous Michelle Parr from Harman/Ilford. We also discuss how this launch affects availability of the original Phoenix (and Red), what the next steps will be and more.
