Welcome to the very first episode of Stronger Than the Shift.
Before we dive into conversations with incredible firefighter and first responder spouses, I wanted to introduce myself and share the story behind this podcast.
In this episode, I’m taking you back to where it all began—from accidentally setting my husband up with someone else in college, to his journey into the fire service, becoming parents during COVID, navigating layoffs, postpartum anxiety, solo parenting, therapy, and ultimately finding purpose in one of the hardest seasons of my life.
This episode is an honest look at what life behind the scenes of the fire service really looks like—the parts people don’t always see, the lessons I’ve learned, and why I believe no spouse should have to navigate this life feeling alone.
Whether you’re married to a firefighter, another first responder, or simply looking for a place where real conversations happen, I’m so glad you’re here.
Thank you for listening, and welcome to the Stronger Than the Shift community.
