Team golf has a funny way of revealing the truth: talent alone does not win alternate shot. With Chuck handling a personal matter and sitting this one out, I start by recapping a memorable golf trip through Chattanooga and into North Carolina, including a Wade Hampton moment we will be talking about for a long time. Then we pivot straight into what the Presidents Cup is showing us in real time, especially why the U.S. can look unbeatable on paper and still struggle badly in foursomes.

From there, I dig into a problem I hear constantly from golfers: “How do I find a coach I can trust?” The golf coaching industry exploded after COVID, and while plenty of coaches mean well, too many golfers spend money and walk away unchanged. I break down what I would look for if I were hiring a golf coach: objective technology like launch monitors, force plates, and 3D motion capture, plus the education to interpret the data. We also talk certifications that matter, staying current, and why a track record of helping real players is more convincing than any sales pitch.

We also get practical about what “better” actually means. Early in a plan, I’m trying to raise your floor by removing round killers like penalty shots and three putts, then measuring progress with on-course stats using apps like Clipped, Upgame, and Circles. If you want a more modern performance approach, we cover why physical screening, training support, and knowing when to refer out can keep you healthy and improving.

If you have thoughts on the Presidents Cup, coach selection, or what’s holding your game back, reach out and tell us. Subscribe, share this with a golf buddy, and leave a review so more golfers can find the show and get better faster.
