Come to Stonham Barns Park for this fantastic one-day event celebrating all things Saxon & Viking - 29 Oct - gates open at 12 noon.

There will be over 15 different re-enactment groups from around the country which will descend on the Stonham Barns Showground creating a living history camp made up solely of the Saxon and Viking period – What is referred to as ‘The Dark Ages’.

Each group will give an insight into the way of life and the culture. There will be lots going on, including cooking, weaving, leathercraft, woodwork, blacksmithing, herbalists, Saga storytelling and Rune readings. Visitors will be able to participate in ‘have a go’ sessions, which will include archery and axe throwing, all handled under supervision by certified instructors.

Re-enactment displays and battles will take place in the show ring from Midday until approx. 5.30pm followed by a BIG BATTLE finale.

A torchlight parade will follow including the fantastic spectacle of the ceremonial burning of a Viking boat.

In the Barn, there will be activities throughout the day including screenings of Hollywood Viking themed films, local interest Dark Age films, talks on weaving, way of life, demos, and crafts. There will be live folk music and children’s activities including face painting and pretend shield, sword and helmet making.

SWEDEFEST is back on 24 and 25 Sept '22!

Swedefest Truck Show is an annual event that is pleased to be back for its fifth year at the Stonham Barns Showground. This show is a 2 day show that celebrates just 2 marques Scania and Volvo. Last year there was 267 trucks on site, a great selection of Scania and Volvo trucks. Some trucks traveling hundreds of miles proving that no distance is too far!!

The Showground at Stonham Barns is situated in a beautiful location with Swedefest occupying the entire showground area, which is self-contained with well maintained, tended grass and no rough edges making it a great area for the trucks.

There are trade stands for you to browse, food available throughout the day, picnic tables, children’s play zone, and disco Saturday night with the bar open in the Barn throughout the weekend.

If you like trucks, come along for a relaxed day surrounded by some of the best modern and classic trucks produced by both marquees in a chronological display. Have a walk around the trucks, meet the drivers, share their passion for the vehicles that deliver all the products and goods we take for granted on a daily basis. 

As a spectator the showground has complete disabled wheelchair access and toilets. Dogs are welcome on site and at the show as long as they are kept on a leash and their owners clean up after them. There are trophies to be won for each marque and class and also trophies shared across both marques.

In association with the Knuckle Busters UK Car Club, The American Car Show is back again with a massive range of American Cars, Trucks, Hot Rods and Bikes on display.

There will be a Show ‘n’ Shine parade along with Trophies for the best in category.

There will be Rock ‘n’ Roll Bands and DJ’s, Slot Car Indy 500 Racing, Walkabout Characters and Show-ring Displays.

The show, which has been staged at Stonham for over 4 years, is a wonderful day out for all the family with an abundance of things to do and see and live music to dance away the day and night..

Stonham Barns Park are excited to be hosting this joint event with The Knuckle Busters UK Car Club. This event is open to all makes of cars and bikes and to all ages interested in Rockabilly music and Hot Rods.

On Sunday there is the Show ‘n’ Shine Competition, so come along and enter your pride and joy.

A fabulous selection of Hot Rods, Classics, American Cars and Bike will be on display.

During the weekend the entertainment will include Top Rockabilly Bands, Jive Dancers, DJ Nadge, Hot Rod Movies, trader area, food court and restaurant.

Confirmed live music on Sunday will include 70’s cover Band The Glamtastics and Skasouls
