  • Do Steelers Have a Cornerback Logjam? | Steelers Morning Rush
    2025/07/09
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's trying to project the roster battles in the Steelers secondary. With the addition of Jalen Ramsey, the Steelers have seven cornerbacks who finished the 2024 season on an NFL roster, and they also have seventh-round draft pick Donte Kent in competition for a roster spot. Is seven too many, and does it matter where Ramsey plays? What about the suddenly-thin free safety spot after the trade of Minkah Fitzpatrick? Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. • Top 2026 NFL Draft Quarterbacks | Steelers Morning Rush
    2025/07/08
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's trying to rank the quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft class. Which, of course, is a fool's errand. The NFL teams that will spend millions of dollars between now and next April attempting to do that have a 100% chance of getting it wrong. So who cares what anyone thinks now? Arch Manning is probably the prospect in the class with the highest upside, but it's a real question as to whether he'll even come out. You can make good arguments for an against the likes of LaNorris Sellers, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, Fernando Mendoza, Garrett Nussmeier and Nico Iamaleava, and there are plenty more that could play their way into that conversation. The real question isn't who's best, it's who will be available when the Steelers are on the clock -- or how far up they'll have to go to get a franchise quarterback. Learn more about your ad choices. 2025/07/07
Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, Chris Halicke joins to discuss the column about Jalen Ramsey's time in Miami, suggesting the team wanted to move on from him as much if not more than the other way around. We also discuss if Darius Slay can offset some of that from a leadership perspective and discuss if the reporting about a knee issue is anything to be concerned about. We then answer questions on how fan reception will be towards TJ Watt at training camp and how we think the Steelers PPG will look in 2025? • Steelers Betting on Coaching to Make Shaken-Up Secondary Work | Steelers Morning Rush
    2025/07/07
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the Steelers big trade with the Miami Dolphins last week and how general manager Omar Khan is counting on Mike Tomlin and his coaching staff to make the pieces fit. The Steelers got the best of the trade with the Dolphins, adding a more-valuable secondary piece in Jalen Ramsey in addition to Jonnu Smith in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick. But it's not immediately clear how all the pieces will fit together, and if the coaching staff can't make it work, it will open fair questions about the quality of the trade and their future. Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Are the Steelers Trying to Be the Ravens? | Steelers Morning Rush
    2025/07/03
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the Steelers offseason, including Monday's big trade with the Miami Dolphins, and how much they're focused on trying to beat -- or be -- the Baltimore Ravens. The 2025 season fell apart for Pittsburgh, thanks to a five-game losing streak to close the season that included two losses to the Ravens. The latter, in the playoffs, involved Baltimore racking up nearly 300 rushing yards against the Steelers defense. So how much of what Omar Khan is doing this offseason has been about trying to reverse the trend against the Ravens, and possibly even taking some of Baltimore's ideas for themselves? Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
