Start to Stop Toddler Breastfeeding by Jenna Wolfe is dedicated to supporting moms breastfeeding and weaning their older babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and those who are hoping to make it that far and want to set themselves up for success.

You wanted to breastfeed for years, not months, but I bet you didn’t expect gymnurstrics, skin crawling with every latch, nipple twiddling, meltdowns, and still having sleepless nights. In this podcast you will find everything you need to extended breastfeed, full-term wean and even tandem feed without losing your mind (or your toddler’s trust). We will also cover nutrition, supporting healthy emotional and social development in your child, and so much more.

You will find fireside chats with incredible experts like Krystyn Parks of Feeding Made Easy, Samantha Radford of Evidence-Based Mommy, and more. You will leave every episode feeling like you have found your people and have a new-found confidence in your breastfeeding and parenting.

If you are looking to make some changes in your breastfeeding relationship with your older baby or child, make sure to download the free “Making Changes” communication guide & cheat sheet so that you can say “no” to the feed while saying “yes” to the need.

  • Why your weaning plan isn't working (and why it isn't your fault)
    2026/10/11

You followed all of the steps, but your child is still losing their mind when you say 'no' to breastfeeding.

If you’re sitting there thinking, “What did I do wrong?”, this episode is for you.

Most of us come into breastfeeding with a very straightforward veiw of how it is supposed to go:

    • Feed every 2-3 hours
    • Offer both sides, 15 minutes on each
    • Adjust frequency as they get older and more efficient
    • Add in solid foods
    • When you are ready to wean, drop one feed at a time until you are done.

So when real life (and a real toddler) enters the picture, it can feel confusing to say the least. Especially when the world around you continues to offer these "step-by-step, do this then that" plans for weaning they just don't seem to work.

Are you doing something wrong? Not enough connection? Too much screen time? Not holding the "loving limit" strong enough?

One plus one always equals two, so doing the plan properly should result in the weaned and happy child that was promised, right?

In this episode, I’m sharing a reframe that I hope takes some of that weight off your shoulders.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    • Why you can do everything “right” in weaning and still get an unexpected reaction
    • Why the question “where did I mess up?” is the wrong one to be asking
    • Why your toddler’s big reactions don’t mean you’re doing damage
    • How to give yourself permission to stop being the “perfect mom” and show up as yourself
    • How weaning can be a healthy separation that still keeps your connection strong

One question to take with you:
Are you expecting weaning to go the way the plan says it should? Or are you leaving room for the fact that you and your child are two real, changing humans?

    Come hang out with me:
If this episode landed for you, I’d love to keep talking about it at a workshop (and I'll have free coaching after too!!) Grab a spot (or the latest recorded workshop) at ownyourparentingstory.com/workshop.

  • 3 Ways "Nervous System Regulation" May Be Sabotaging Your Breastfeeding, Weaning & Parenting
    2026/05/25

"Nervous System" talk is definitely in the parenting ziegist.

It's something I talk a lot about, and it's a corner stone to my approach for coaching and supporting families.

AND - I have seen how the way it is often framed and discussed in the parenting space can actually *backfire* and leave you feeling worse than when you started.

In this episode, I highlight 3 different beliefs about nervous system regulation that are easy to pick up, but aren't very helpful... and I share the real thing that I know to *always* work!

Belief #1: "You are the problem" - You need to regulate so you can regulate your kids... which often also means, "if you're kids aren't regulated, it's your fault."

Belief #2: "Do more" - you and your kids need better routines, diet changes, more movement, less screens, meditations etc... which means - you have to add *more* to your plate so that you can all be "regulated"

Belief #3: "Self-regulation is the key" - you (and your kids) need to learn how to self-regulate. That's the end game. That's what's most important. That's what nervous system regulation is all about.... or is it?

Tune in to hear why I don't think these common beliefs are helpful, and what might be true instead.

Also - doors are open to Moms & Milk Village intil May 26th, 2026 at 11:59pm EDT. Multiple pricing options are available. If you would like to join - you can check it out here.

  • 52: The powerful role the skill of greiving plays in boundaries & weaning
    2025/06/09

    Send me a message!

Hey friends, I'm back behind the mic and easing into a new season with a heartfelt episode on a topic that might seem a little odd - how grief is an important part of breastfeeding boundaries. In this episode, I open up about the emotional undercurrents we face in transitions—from weaning and toddler boundaries to unexpected life moments that stir up deep feelings.

Grief shows up in subtle and surprising ways as our children grow, especially during limit-setting moments. I share personal stories, including the tender experience of my daughter's emotional resilience after the loss of a pet, and reflect on how guiding our children through their frustration, sadness, and eventual acceptance can become one of the most valuable life skills we nurture in them. If you've ever felt the tug of grief during a parenting milestone, this episode on gentle parenting, breastfeeding boundaries, and emotional development in toddlers is for you.
