Leisa Aras lost her husband to suicide 20 years ago. Since, she has taken the darkest day of her life and turned it into a positive force to bring positive things to humanity. She is an outspoken voice for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Leisa Aras left a successful career in real estate and joined the post office in 2024, as a first step in her walk across America for suicide and mental health awareness. As an assistant mail carrier in New York, she would often walk 12+ hours per day. After a few months of training and time on feet, courtesy the US Postal Service, she was ready for her long walk. In January of 2025, she left Los Angeles and crossed the United States on foot, arriving in New York after several months and countless miles later.
