It's been more than 50 podcasts together, and if you listened, even once, you know Shenan is running.

She is running things, running off to interviews, running to an event with her position with Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp, running away from my bad puns, and even just running.

She has a lot on her plate.

So, she is taking a break from the podcast, not because she doesn't adore her co-host, but because she has taken on new volunteer duties within the community with Schenectady Shares. Something we have talked about on the podcast, which is extremely important to her.

So we kick off the podcast about running, recapping her successful time at the Delightful Run for Women, our training, our continued running passion and into her thoughts about pausing the podcast duties ... for a moment.

So think of it as a hydration break on a marathon. She's on the road, but always ready to return and pick up the mic.

Summer is here and Schenectady County is the place to be with a host of events for everyone.

Friday, July 10, is one of the biggest events hosted by Schenectady County, as we invited Schenectady County legislator and chairperson of Tourism, Arts and Special Events, Cathy Gatta along with Schenectady County Director of Special Events, Jason Lecuyer, to talk about the summer and share way too many laughs.

July kicked off with the 4th on the 3rd at Mabee Farms and leads into Summer Night on July 10, but there is so much more to do and to do outside as the county introduced its 'Get Offline, Get Outside' activity passport and challenged the co-hosts to take part.

Shenan agreed and completed the first challenge - getting her Schenectady County library card shortly after the podcast recording.

Stan still has some commitments on his list with some help, but will keep you updated.

The podcast went a bit longer than expected, courtesy of Jason, making the most of his own Stan and Shen Show podcast premier, so we apologize for that. But, not really, because it was so much fun!

Gallery 5 board member Steve Kowalski stopped by the Daily Gazette podcast to discuss "Place Your Bets on Art," a Pop-Up with Purpose exhibit running from June 5 to 7 at the Electric City Apartments, 236 State Street in Downtown Schenectady.

More than 40 artists will showcase their paintings, sculptures, photographs, collages, prints, and lithographs at this free event.

The two artists in the podcast studio, Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp. Program Director Shenandoah Briere and Kowalski discuss the creation of art, their journeys into the art world as Stan Hudy, Daily Gazette Business Editor, listens...artfully.
